Need for speed hot pursuit remastered is the one! Pure arcade fun! I am at Sergeant II as a cop and as a racer Most Wanted 15. This after 1 year of purchase for my son.
One of the best racers on switch. Only game to top it would be if Most Wanted released on Switch. So many memories for us GenY/X dads

It's regularly on sale so pick it up, you won't be disappointed. I'd have put it higher up the list personally.
Some good switch car games, GRID Auto sport, WRC 9, Wreckfest ,gear club unlimited 2, Spintires mud runner.

Most of the games are unequivocally better than Mario Kart 8, but what sells well, is well what gets rated so. I never heard of most or any of these games until now.😮 Burnout paradise, Wreckfest, fast rmx, maybe crash Bandicoot, need for speed 16 remastered all look like amazing games.
The snorkel is on the intake not the exhaust, exhaust can go below the water line as long as engine is running as air is being forced out, intake sucks air into the engine hence why it needs to be high as possible when traversing deep water.
Nothing beats Cruisin Blast! I have 2 mario racing wheels hooked to a 120 inch projector screen and its a party favorite.
Not having fun a throttle trigger that you can ease on and off makes racing games unplayable for me on switch. It’s a on/off button for acceleration. I’m use to an Xbox or ps5 style trigger. I wish Nintendo didn’t cheap out on that functionality.

Honestly, as an arcade racing maniac that played all of them (even the shittiest ones), the Mario Kart is honestly one of the worst games available on the Nintendo Switch. It's so boring and awful. I don't understand how it keeps getting the 1st place.
I got Gear Club Unlimited 2 Definite Edition.
It's the only realistic racer on Switch, that also has a full 4-Player Split Screen mode, to my knowledge.
The trade off is no Bot support, unlike those who support only 2-Player, like Grid Auto Sport.
I don't get why the devs nowadays push for the best possible graphics instead of pushing for responsiveness and high smooth framerate, which arcade racing games are all about. Why won't they port brilliant open-world racing games like Midnight Club or NFSU2. All they port is shit. All they do is shit. Everything available on the Nintendo Switch to date is shit. Honestly, there's no 1 good arcade racing game on the Nintendo Switch. I played a shitload of them on my PC, but even on my PC I still quite often get back to Midnight Club 2 or NFSU2, because the new games like The Crew, Forza, NFS etc. even though they are very good, they still have that problem of striving for the best possible graphics and hour long animations instead of pushing to the best possible responsiveness and sense of speed. If I want to play a sim, I can always play Assetto Corsa on my steering wheel. That's really not the point. The point of an arcade racing game is to basically be the next NFSU2, why is this so freaking difficult for the devs nowadays, I don't get it, honestly.
If they simply provide us with such game, they'll have a shitload of money, for free. I honestly don't understand why they don't want our money.

Of course Mario Kart is number one. Any top xx list of racing games for a Nintendo console is legally required to put a Mario Kart game in the number one spot.
WARNING!!! I'm not even halfway through this video. However, if you are a fan of Sim racing, (realistic) WRC games are far from that. For realistic racing, you want DiRT 5 (2015). Unfortunately it's on PS4. And maybe xbox, but only if you are unfortunate enough to own one.

Outside of Mario Kart, definitely Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. The cars are really easy to maneuver and there's a great feeling of progression

Honest question: why Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is so prised? I have bought it for my children and played some of it with them... but neither I or them seem too much interested to get back to it. And they like to play this very simple, free Alsphalt game that also is not so great in my opinion. I feel that maybe we are missing something about this game? Doing something wrong with it? Playing "not the right way" ? :)
It always seem that all of us are spread far away of each other on the track, CPU oponents don't seem to be very interesting and tracks are creazy... but don't ever feel like ones requiring too much skill.... Just my impressions.
Once again I rather think that we are playing in some "wrong" way, then it is not so good game... or maybe it's that those are not "real" cars?
But the thing is that most games on this list looks much more interesting to me then Mario Cart... what am I missing?

NFS is the only real racing game. And there's only one on the cheap switch.
