first rave i ever did Biology Elstree just of the A41 just outside of London i was hooked best days of my life and still to this day the best ever music shame it all had to end.
Think about the initial reaction to raves logically. What you had was large gatherings of young people who just wanted to dance to music on mass and have fun and all get on and they were willing to pay a lot of money for this. In the end, ultimately, the problem was that money was being made by 'the wrong people' and 'the right people' weren't getting their palms greased making the cut that they felt they were entitled to. That is how it is in this country, the ruling elite must be paid tribute to and once that tribute payment is fulfilled suddenly everything is A-OK fine and dandy. No more moral outrage through their fake news media outlets, no more Police crackdowns etc. Enjoy your summer festivals with all their corporate sponsorship.
@zonked23 yeh just a picture on the blotters, purple ohm sign, AKA, M.B.S. mind body & Soul, they seemed to be most common in those days, aswell as strawbs, then double dipped stawbs!!lol, ganesha, planets, Bart simpsons, penguins, penny farthings, black stars, then they did albert hoffman ones for his anniversary of making acid, i remember those! all just patterns/pictures, you can find collectors of acid art and websites devoted to it where u can also buy sheets of them.
You can read of the police 'Acid House Unit' & heaps of other rave & house music refs. in the free e-book London Watch House - tapas.io/series/LondonWatchHouse/info - peace & rave on!
i think that perhaps the Hip-hop image has helped to ruin the Latest Rave generation ( I know hip hop isn't connected ..but bear with me).Hip hop image is cool today, but sadly that image includes a scaowl and an arrogance , and this is unfortunately brought to the events . Sad but True.
i was one of the pioneers and totally proud of what we experienced...

It has always been a problem for autorities with autonomous youth. It's a threat to their power structures.

Sad but True.
very true comment there except the irony is that its not cool, its agressive and neurotic music.
