    Thank you for the review! My reason for learning German is to have more of a variety than just Spanish. I believe it would be cool to expand.

    Good comprehensive review. Still deciding though. My family hosted a German student over the summer and it was an amazing experience. Our two families are planning to meet up on a vacation sometime in the future (hopefully the next couple of years). I am learning German so I can speak with our student’s parents in their their language.

    The article makes a point about German being hard because of the long words, that can make it really thorny, Rocket does seem to be the best antidote though.

    I've always wanted to go to Oktoberfest in Germany, this program looks great for getting some functional knowledge of the language before I go

    Rocket does sound amazing! I'm learning German and all I can afford is a free version right now and sporadic pimsleur cds that a friend who speaks German gave me! Love your reviews! Thank you!

    I'm not learning german right now but if I did it would be because it is the biggest language in Europe (I think), it would be handy to know in central Europe.
    I have decided to learn mandarin instead with Rocket Languages, you should make a mandarin review too!

    I'm learning German because we're trying to move to Germany. One thing about Duolingo that's been a struggle for me. Grammar, they do not teach grammar in a way I understand.

    One of my reasons for wanting to learn German would be to connect to my German roots. I have some German ancestors on my mothers side! 😁

    Hello, I'm currently using Pimsleur to learn the German language. I'm about to complete level 1 of the Pimsleur course. I'm liking the course, but in a few instances, I'm not understanding sentence structure. Will the Rocket language course be more helpful in understanding the structure of words in a sentence (which word needs to be placed where in a sentence)? Shall I switch to the Rocket language course? Please suggest as I'm planning to have conversational fluency in 6 months.

    • @TestPrepInsight
      @TestPrepInsight  Před 2 lety +2

      Pimsleur and Rocket are both very good, though Rocket does offer slightly better grammar instruction. They tend to have slightly more comprehensive and in-depth coursework. Whether it's worth switching is a tough call. If grammar and sentence structure is your big hold up though, I'd likely give Rocket a shot.
