Just fell instantly in love 😍 And then this summer replacement series...I was in heaven for an hour every week! Been a major fan of Ray since...50 years! 😳 ❤️ Love Steve too! Fifty yrs later and still brilliant as ever.
Amazing how so much of it is already in place, the arrow through the head, the balloon animals, the fake nose/eyeglasses... I kept waiting for him to say he was a wild and crazy guy!
This was a family favorite. Each show aired once, maybe twice. Before VCR. It's fun to see what we saw as kids. My Uncle Robert's favorite show. Comedy completely changed.
He was 25 in '70. To think I had tears coming out of I laughed at this then. Nobody was like this then. Now?..how many by the 80's stand up did the manic guy with rubber face and props? 1970 was a good year. Original.

I only knew about Martin in the past 20 years, and don't think he is that funny - too strained. But this early stuff is great. He sure got more safe and predictable (boring) as he got older.
