- Playing on this beautiful Epiphone White ES-355. Its the Les Paul Custom of 335s. It plays and sounds amazing!! Has a rounded C profile neck that feels great! Hopefully i'll make more videos on this soon.

JUST ordered mine! Congrats! Haven't been this excited about a guitar in a while
Hope you enjoy it!
My first amp was a Peavy Renown back in the 80’s. Cool to see someone playing one on YT all these years later.
Beautiful! Congratulations.
Thank you!
Holy smokes that is a gorgeous 335. Love the White and Gold. Congrats
Thank you 🙏
Nice video. Just got my IGC 1959 ES-355 in Ebony today. My very first semi-hollow body. And it’s fantastic. It’s VOS. But, I prefer gloss. As expected, it’s got those sharp fret ends. Other than that, craftsmanship is flawless. For me, it looks, feels and plays great. It’s got that woody and airy tone. Cheers!
Much improved with the gibson headstock and US pickups!
I never liked their older headstocks. The Kalamazoo shape is a big improvement. And the Gibson shape is what I really wanted all along. I know it's shallow but I can't help it 😅
@@davecooper360 we like what we like...
@@davecooper360it’s not as shallow as you think. From a design perspective the headstock is a crucial as anything else and changing inevitably changes how the whole design is perceived. Have you ever noticed that s style guitars without the right headstock shape throw the whole design off? It’s no coincidence and they were designed with that shape for a reason.
the rolls royce... of epiphone.
Yes that's actually a good description. It looks and feels like a luxury car in guitar form.
@@davecooper360 should install a bigsby and add that varitone to complete
The fretboard and frets look really shiny.
You obviously have a thing about 335's Dave!
How does it compare to Gibson es-335? Is the playability as great? Sounds? I have ordered one and it should arrive in 2 months
It playsband feels just as great as the Gibson I'm not kidding! The Epi neck is a little chunkier than the Gibson and I really like that! The T-type pickups in the Gibson are hotter than the Custombuckers in the Epi. As far as which sounds better it's hard to tell... so that means they both sound great!
Sounds nice!!!! Always been a fan of a white ES. What wireless are you running?
Thank you 🙏 I'm using the NU>X C-5RC wireless set. It's very good I highly recommend.
hmm... Peavy Renown... good stuff!
Yes it's a beast!
how is the worn finish everyone is complaining about?
I really like it! I think of it as an exaggerated VOS finish. It will slightly wear away and get shiny in spots which is cool. Not for everyone but I really like mat finishes.
Hmmm
Sounds ok .. but for not much more i went with the eastman t59 in antique red... Semyour duncan antiquties.. plays like a dream.. and easily as good as the gibson 335s i tried before it
I hear the Eastmans are just insanely good. I will check them out eventually.
The Eastman t-185 is 15” es style all hand carved spruce top carved maple back and rims . Lollar humbuckers! Killer guitar. Close to the Collings. Way good
They got to loose that horrible gold hardware then there onto something sweet😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I agree that nickel hardware would have looked way better!
Everyone will have varying opinions. I think it looks ok. The pick guard is what I would want to change.
I love the gold hardware! But then again I've never been accused of having good taste 😅 The pickguard should be black and the smaller size imo, but I think the larger torte pg is period correct for 1959.
All this can be changed anyway so it's not a big deal, I ordered the Les Paul Custom, if I like it I will change the hardware to nickel one
I think it looks great and I almost never like gold hardware
