Having a card that for cost can at minimum shuffle itself into the deck (so it can't be chained to both called and d.d. crow, very prevalent ht cards in the current meta) but also tribute the monster on the field that activated its own effect to negate it if you have the field spell is crazy and very fitting of a first place too of a tournament with inexperienced player of a barely legal TCG splight format

Rikka singlehandedly went from Rouge to arguably the best deck thanks to these 3 guys. It managed to win the longest and most competitive Yugioh tournament ever which is no small feat for a rouge deck

Edit: One of the best deck profiles I've ever seen. Explains cards concisely, shows great interactions, and even shows a combo line.
It's a really good deck that took advantage of the format without being cringe like the Mystic Mine turbo from the previous format (granted this deck also plays Mine but it's not really the win con)
Also, they had advantage, because literally opponents didn't know this deck and combos, i guess 2nd place player didnt know too

People talk about the meta when they should be worried about decks you don't see. I love rikkas so this is makes that much better (so glad I still have this deck)
To be fair I'm pretty sure most of the people don't know or realize the deck folds if you out the field spell. spright is able to out the field spell with smashers and keep it from touching the field with Toad but they gotta know the deck which most won't.

@@4pfBulmond that's a lie. It has various way to bait the ash with the Sunavalon plant combo. so you either throw the ash there to prevent that or hold it for the Rikka part. either way we end on interruptions.

In game 1 sure, but at least in g2 and g3 people should realize that the field spell is the problem. How on earth did people still didn't realize it

With Rikka being one of the first archetypes I checked out when I was initially getting into Yugioh, I’m really happy to see it getting success.
All 3 SESL decks have now certifiably seen Top Tier success.

It's cool to see how these three lads created an entirely new meta. They are humble and give credit to each other for the efforts made along the way. Good to see that he gave his friend who created the deck the recognition he deserves.
Always been a fan of plant decks and to see this do so well is amazing!
Rikka Princess with Konkon, Sheet, and Strenna is a great way to counter the board breakers people play as well as countering the meta decks.
I've been playing a purely fun compost heap of a plant deck and I have seen the power of Princess alone and it is crazy. Shuffle back and tribute for cost is crazy and then summoning a Teardrop off of that.
Also, Dancepione is an amazing clutch card. Sometimes I get Ash'd on the search of Dryas and then I am screwed out of the Sunavalon combo but I have an extender that lets me go into Dancepione (Like Therion Lily Borea, of course after the search of Lily and Disco) and then hit like a lonefire and a rikka princess off of Dancepione and I can just go off. Very fun card to use.

In a world where modern deck profiles seem like an absolute muppet show of young men trying to be funny with stupid meme quotes and superficial information provided, this deck profile was a real treat. It reminds me of the canadian team’s deck profile about xyz infernity for worlds a few years back in time.

@@chaosinfernoid9008 Eldlich is like investing into a share that will never fall,as long flowadgates exist eldlich will keep being alive, It's just a good meta deck, i built a competitive eldlich deck in like 250$ ,and the cool thing about it , I don't need to play my handtraps cuz it doesn't matter.
I've spent the last year trying out different builds with these im super happy someone was able to acquire all the cards and make this dream happen. good work ya'll!

I bought almost every card (the field and princess recently obv) few months ago, after having pulled out a Teardrop in master duel and trying the deck and then going on EdoPro and Dueling Book to test it with the new cards and it was (is) so insane, and most of all fun. Really good job to him!
I had one teardrop already and bought everything like 2 weeks ago. Really glad I did, now everything is gonna spike.

As funny as the "ha ha floodgates are broken" comments are. It's genuinely impressive how well thought out this deck is and how many outs it has to meta cards. They explained very well how the Rikka cards are good at playing through board breakers and how they counter Spright and Tear. Yes floodgates are strong rn but majority of decks would not be this successful off of those alone.

13:20 are these math percentages from siding in all 9 going second cards in a 40 card deck? Also what common math percentages and ratios are typically used for deck building (like specific percentages of seeing an amount of hand traps in opening hand?)
Yeah there is a hypermetric calculator you can use online for free to test ratios and stuff. A quick google will show you.

Rikka is a good deck but they are definitely overhyping how good the deck is. Once people realize to get rid of the Field spell just like with Marincess their interaction points quickly go down and to D.D. Crow or Called by the princess in GY before they get the chance to negate it's GG. Rikka becomes a bye again. the deck also just folds to Lightning storm, Evenly matfched or any board wipe S/T card. their singular S/T negate is situationally Hyperyton.

@@gravekeepersven82 They even said a lot of their opponents didn't know how to interact with the deck and played into the "punish lines" so I'm just being realistic. if you know what to hit the deck loses. Their board breaking relied on the opponent not know what the field spell did.
I play the deck at my Meta focused Locals and once I showed them the decks key cards a lot of games just become unwinnable. Stop the field spell and you prevent 3 things 1) board breaking if going second, 2) interruptions through dark ruler, 3) extending plays.

You nailed it. My friend has the deck and after playing him for a few sessions, realized a good chunk of the deck’s power comes from the field spell. You get rid of it early on, the match up becomes significantly easier.
