Life on a Small Family Farm - Mini Round Bale Hay!

A changing forecast and unexpected rain for several days put a damper on our late summer hay production. However we managed to get some baled before the rains started and managed to salvage some bales after the rains stopped. We really like the small round bales the Farm Maxx FMRB-330 produces, and they stack ever-so neatly in the barn. Every day life on a small family farm!

We are currently looking at mini round vs square bales for our small farm but it's hard to find info and comparison between the 2. Do you have any suggestions to hone in our research or perhaps helpful advice in this matter? we got sub compact tractor and a very old David Brown 60 hp ish (maybe) tractor

We bought a Yanmar mini bailer hay package. Biggest piece of crap I have ever bought. Broke 3 times and is still not fixed. We lost a whole cutting because of this issue

Regarding the rained on hay. This happens. Just let in dry out again in the field and turn it over with the hay rake. You can bale it when it is dry. Don't waste anything. You never know when you may need it.
