Xbox Elite 2 Right Bumper Double Click Issue

- Update: So I found out Microsoft is aware of the issue. And apparently they've been aware of it for awhile. They just haven't fixed it. Good news for you is if you have this problem They've extended the warranty for one year. I mean, why fix the issue when you could inconvenience your customers by having them send in their controller an be without a controller for five weeks? Unless you purchase another one in the meantime. 👍

I was just pressing the bumpers once back and forth, so ideally the cursor should transition from my shotgun to my smg but look how mant laps it does around my loadout in less than a minute. So when you are in a fight in Fornite and someone throws a Mini or a Med kit at you, He might not be spazzing out and panicking. He may just have a worthless $200 controller.
This is embarrassing, Microsoft. This is a $200 dollar controller having a known, common issue with the right bumper having a double input. I haven't heard anything from Microsoft about fixing this, or even addressing it.
I would recommend not buying until they fix this issue. This has caused a lot unfortunate fortnite deaths and frustration. This isn't a cheap PDP or Power A knockoff controller. This is the most expensive Official Microsoft Controller they make for Xbox. It doesn't matter if you are wireless or wired. Playing on Console or PC. This shouldn't happen with a $200 controller. I mean this is the controllers only job, to input to the PC button presses or joystick movements. And it fails at its only reason for existing.
I know there are MacGyver fixes and hacks to rig this thing into working correctly. But I shouldn't have to resort to that on a supposed "Elite" product. I know I mention the price often, but I work hard for my money. Not a big fan of just wasting money on garbage. When someone pays me that much money to do a job, I have to do it correctly or I don't get paid. - Hry
Having the same problem and I’m just as annoyed as you are. Buying the top of the line Microsoft controller and it has issues less than half of a year into owning

@@YexnyXD in my opinion, it’s still a good controller. If you have the warranty which you should (Microsoft extended it a year from date of purchase) send it in and get a new one. I did that and then sold it. I now have the razer wolverine ultimate but sadly it has the same issues, I’ve gone through 2 so far and am just waiting on Razer to hopefully make a V2 of the ultimate
Just bought a cheap soldering kit and going to switch them out myself.. they should be sued for this problem with the amount of money these controllers cost. super sad because it my fav controller but cheap parts in them at this point almost seems like it was done purposefully is just wrong.

i've had this issue for a while but just dealt with it, noticed my warranty was about to expire so i got in touch & they put me through to the department who deals with it, only to be hung up on immediately lmao
For those wondering, I bought one from best buy, microsoft refunded me whole msrp price (tax not included) after a few swaps of broken controllers you have a right to get a refund. They just don't tell you. Just refund process sucks and thought it was a scam at 1st

controller working amazingly and I loved it for a couple months, then this happens. I've tried everything, no video works. And im not very fond of trying to buy another one with a chance of another problem showing up.
And if you buy another one that's exactly what will happen my brother's been through three of them I've been through two they've all developed the same problem
Buy the cheap soldering kit with the after market switches and if you like DIY stuff it is fun. There are YT vids to walk you through it.. just turning a negative into a positive haha

I'm on my 10th controller I honestly don't know why I keep getting them. my last 4 have had problems with doubling clicking within the first month.
I have this issue too, exactly on the RB...holy f this sucks bc this is my 1st controller ever and i just bought it few months ago...
i see some people adding tinfoil to pad the button, others bending the button closer to the bumper, others solder the elite 1 bumper button onto the mobo of the elite 2
welcome to the club... it appears it stems from putting pressure on the internal button... the quality of which, is trash
I've had 7 of these on warranty with the same issue. Almost out of my extended warranty now and I'll be stuck. My current one just started double pressing. Piece of shit waste of money controller
i’ve had mine since it’s come out and zero issues whatsoever. not to mention i’ve dropped it a couple of times. you must be getting very unlucky

Use oil on the bumper and it will work

yeah my is brand new in March 2023.. same problem .. if i smash the RB down it will work but not the button press and click... unreal... $180
@Click Mcclick hey bro. If you open up your controller you should see the bumper button ( its a white small circle ⚪️) put some oil on it. Should do the trick
U need to put oil on the button receiver for the bumper. It works

put the trigger stop down and pull the trigger down and blow into the gap in between the trigger and bumper
It's not a physical issue. It's either mechanical or programming. I'm sure every one of us has tried blowing into the bumper. Most of us, like myself have actually taken apart the controller, swabbed it with alcohol, and tried many more remedies before giving up but nothing fixed it. If that fixed yours you are one of the lucky ones because most of us have an issue that won't go away so simply.

My controllers joysticks, D-pad, and bumpers all do this in every direction. I don’t know what the hell happened to it but I need help on how to fix it. It is a design lab controller so I don’t want to buy another one.

A good solution is to just put few drops of 90+% alcohol on the white part of the microswitch and keep clicking until it cleans itself. (when you open the front cover)

@@aeyherr search a video on YT, there are a few, it shows better than I could explain...but it's not that easy not to damage your gamepad visually.

the controller start out doing that and then buttons will not work. Disassemble top cover and clean/lube buttons. YT elite controller button issues. ITS WORKS.

What I don't understand is obviously they are aware of the problem. Where's the difficulty in fixing it? I mean they extended the warranty. But the possibility of getting another controller with the same problem is actually really high. My brother has the same controller and his is much newer. But he has the same issue And he purchased the controller after Microsoft put out the statement regarding the extended warranty. I purchased mine in June of 2020. I just saw an article posted in October of 2020. That says there is a class action lawsuit looming over the Issues with the controller. Maybe we'll see some solutions.
@@nicholasgmassey any fix/changes since you made this video? It has happened to 2 of my controllers they sent. Now on my 4th one, ive about had it with this nonsense. I dont want another replacement. I want my money back
@@kevinwiens8380 nothing that I have heard of or found. The only real solution I have found is to make the jump into keyboard and mouse. Only bright side is a solid keyboard and mouse is cheaper than a wicked expensive controller that doesn't perform one of the major basic functions it was created for. I wish I had better news. Unfortunately Microsofts only solution is to give you another faulty controller in hopes that it shuts you up long enough to outlast your warranty.
@@nicholasgmassey with my gaming setup, I wouldn't be able to k&m :/ that is a good solution though. And yup, contacted MS service reps today and they gave me the typical run-around. "Nope, no refund. Only another replacement"

I have had 5 of these controllers. This happens every time. I just replace for a new one with warranty every time. It’s the only issue with them.

Thats something in the settings you have to change or update the controller
It's not. I have had Multiple that start out fine but within a month or 2 it develops a double input primarily on the right bumper but I have heard people with issues on the left bumper and A button. I have tried computer and Xbox it happens on both and I keep all my components clean and updated. It's not user error it's definitely a Manufacturing issue.
I fixed mine by folding the white thingy over to the top on 1 side

FIX!!! Had the same problem, just put WD40 on the bumper clickers and click so it can creep into the cracks, the problem went away right away. hope this helps
Surprisingly this worked for me too. I sprayed wd40 on a Q-tip. Then let it drip onto the bumper switch. Clicked it a few times. Haven't had an issue since which I'm quiet shocked about because wtf....

No. No it's not. I am guessing we've all tried cleaning or do it yourself fixes. it doesn't fix it. It's an issue with the input module on the bumper. Where when it's pressed once it records 2 inputs. My brother has been through about 5 different controllers all with the same issue. Some of them with the issue straight out of the Box before there was even time for dust to build-up. Others developed over time with degradation of the part.

It's simple. Just buy a garbage $200 dollar controller and use it for its intended purpose and voila, ghost double clicks.

Apparently this is not a small elite club. It's a great controller when it's working. Unfortunately it's far too infrequent. The only solution I have seen so far is an extended warranty from Microsoft so you can send in your controller and they will send you a probably refurbished one. But either way you will be without a controller for atleast a month. Maybe longer with covid.
Or you can join the class action lawsuit. And when it's over the lawyers will get $20 million dollars and the gamers who got screwed will all get $1.18 cents. Great options all around..
@@nicholasgmassey I have send the Elite 2 a half year ago to microsoft it has problems with the AXYB Buttons, the right stick and also the bumber double click issue and now I sending this again to Microsoft 🙄

No the only thing they've done is extended the warranty. So you won't get any money back but they'll send you a new controller that will do the same thing. Now on an even stupider note it turns out they're releasing a white version of this controller so if you want your inputs to skip while using a white controller you are in luck. Now you can get pissed off in either black or white. But fixing the controller that's off the table.:-)

@bryce slid it's sad but it's the truth. They are still selling a product with known common glitches and asking a premium price. They havent bothered to fix it. Man, I wish I knew this information before I spent all that money
@@nicholasgmassey yea i haven’t had mine a month yet and the skips are insane. Mine also has very bad stick drift (never been dropped) from day one or two I’ve had stick drift. Thought maybe it was because of the input i have my analog sticks set at on the Xbox accessories app but no. I also had this issue where the controller would connect to the pc then disconnect like instantly, the controller would show that it was charging then you could hear it disconnect, it was almost like the controller lost power mid game.
