The sad thing is that there are so many young black men like this across the country, but we don’t hear about them because those who fall into the stereotypes are the ones highlighted in the media.

I stopped smoking five years ago...FOR GOOD!!🙏🚭 I smoked from 13 years of age to 24 with out missing a SINGLE DAY!!?? And I can tell you.. I've never felt better and I can also say that smoking cigarettes about ruined my life!!!!🍓🥗😤🚭#SOGLADISTOPPED

As a high school teacher, I tell my students my story about smoking in high school (which everyone did in the '70's). I tell them I didn't like being controlled by anyone............and I realized I was allowing a chemical to control me.....that's when I stopped. Love you two. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Twins! Love this so far. Your birthdate is July 19th, same as my dad who will be 90. He's not doing to well right now so, we pray he will live to see his 90th birthday. He has been a wonderful father!💖

When I was younger I felt the same way about smoking I never seen the benefit in it, it only cause problems and have you addicted. I didn't drink until I was past 30 years old and it was only on the holidays around my family. I don't drink at all now.

You guys are an inspiration... determined, goal-oriented, and funny as heck! I don't even know you and I'm so proud of you! The dishes story had me laughing hard. When I'm washing dishes, my kids think it's hilarious to throw last minute cups, silverware, etc into the sink. Makes me so mad! It kind of turned into a joke and now they're teenagers still doing it. When I do it back to them, when it's their turn doing dishes, they just don't care. Which of course takes all the fun out of it.😏

I’m with you on the doing the dishes thing. You are brothers but seems that you are friends also. I always think that the greatest gift a parent can give you is Siblings, sure there are fights and disagreements at times but you always find your way back in the end. I would add alcohol in there too because I know from experience that excess will only lead you down a destructive path, especially if you're genetically predisposed to addictive behavior. I am 62 yrs old and from Gary, Indiana. I never smoked or drank or chased women. Being black means being hated is enough on my plate trying to survive. I feel I have to stay in shape to protect myself and attract opportunities from being attractive. Standing out is a conversation opener because people will ask how you do it. lol

My son told me he didn't want kids period. Thought it to be true, 8y ago he met a girl, chgd his life, 2 beautiful babies later, I asked him about it, he smiled and said, "I had know idea but we are happy." He is 41y now but he really was set on not having kids...just saying. 😉
