It gave you something to look forward to till spring. In the 60s and 70s they had simulated spray on vinyl tops. I had one put on at Nashville auto paint shop in 1970.
My mom and dad had a black 66and red 67 that's how they meet. I was conceived in the back seat. I k now what 442 stands for😊 they had the Muncie 4 speeds.

If it is an automatic, it is not a true 442.
Although that is the original designation, 4-4-2s could be bought with a 3 or 4 speed, as well as an automatic.
