Big ups for watching the video. - Zábava
There is no difference between Romanian and Serbian villages. Greetings for the Romanian brotherds.
🇷🇴❤️🇷🇸
My thoughts exactly, even the same words - mahala, katuni, guster..
@@Touchedbynature304 Have they said those words? I mean, mahala is kinda used, but rarely (and it means in Romanian a very poor neighborhood in a city, so not related to anything village like), and I have never heard the other 2 words. Is katuni the same as "catun" in Romanian (small village)? And guster, I have no ideea :)
@@Touchedbynature304it was a Hungarian village, though. They were speaking Hungarian.
@@RaduRadonys mahala, yes it is used in small towns and villages in the south of Serbia and it is turkish. Katuni is an old type of village(shepherd 's live thee in the mountains )and is vlach.Guster is slavic word. We have 26 minorities in Serbia so many words are used from them .Also in we use some Latin and old Greek. It's a mess😃Did you know what 2 Serbian words the whole world uses - vampir and paprika😅
Hi man . This is hungarians minority village from Romania. They lives în Transilvania, 15-20 % from population. Respectly, Cristian
That toilet is a garden toilet. We say " WC in fundul curții" that mean the toilet from the back of the garden. We do have leasers there little and green brown usually. You also can find some in the caves that usually are not pigmented because of the dark.
and yes , all the horse carts must be register . thats an valid licence plate
That is cool. Its like time stopped there.
I'm from Romania but i live in UK for the past 9 years, i love your videos about romania, it reminds me of home a lot, just a quick tip, invest in a better microphone please
It could be seen as a tranquil rural existence, filled with a sense of calm and space, for someone living in the city. However, it actually involves constant, repetitive, and demanding labor, as well as a lot of physical effort.
Physical effort is sometimes better than mental exhaustion people suffer from in the city. Especially when you realize that you are the boss, the satisfaction of seeing what you can do with your own two hands and watching your children grow in a healthy environment 😊
,,a lot of physical effort''....yeah,but the positive side is you don't have to pay for the gym,lol
I am Clara😂❤. Send you love. You are right. I miss country live, Bucharest is so croweded. I am born here but the grandparents on the side of my mum lived in country , now they are no longer. R.i. p & the grandparents ( my father side ) from Bucharest. One day i will live again on a country side, i stay here now for my kids, good schools/ full live ..one day they will grow & when i am old country side is my "go to" ❤❤❤❤
I too plan to go back to that simple way of living. I plan top move back to the island, no real big cities there and lots of open space for a small island.
Country life for an old person is kinda hard. When you are a child, or youngster, it's ok, you have the energy and power, but old people hardly have enough strength to do the work. At least not when they spent their entire life in the city.
@@RaduRadonysthe busses are full of old ppl in Bucharest so i don' t know what to say about that. There are a lot of old ppl they are lazy & mean , you have to give them the seat & if you don' t they arque with you😂. They are born here or they stay for more then 40 y so i don' t see them going in the country side. My aunt for example is a mean women , very old & she is all day on the busses & walks , she stays here in Bucharest for more then 40 y & she sais she is a beliver in God but she arques & gossip so much from every think, bitter old women. She is lazy , on the country is work to do on a yard , she will never live on the country😂
There are several videos in.that series by Jenny Parsons on hay camps in Romania - all just as interesting as that one! I first saw them 2 years ago and have been intrigued with Romania and Transylvania ever since!
,
De aceea noi suntem un popor liber indiferent cât de greu ne-a fost.
The locals in the video are speaking hungarian language so they are *not* Romanians, but Hungarians 😐
My Slava is SVETA PETKA Celebrate october on 27. Thru is we dont call guests. Well we have , for 3 days full house of people and we enjoy.
Acele haine erau puse la uscat, dar a venit ploaia.Hainele de lucru se pun pe garduri,să se usuce repede.
.Good evening Mr. Giant, the town of Ghimeș is located on the border between Transylvania and Moldova, the majority of the population is Hungarian, but there are also Romanians and Ciangai (Hungarian-speaking Roma). In this area during the first world war there were several battles between the Romanian army and the Austro-Hungarian armies, and in the second world war in September 1944 between the Romanian-Soviet armies and the German-Hungarian troops, the result of those battles are the crosses that appear in the video at 18.00
It is a beautiful place. Like a dream for sure. The simple life is very appealing.
Thank you, that is a very interesting background.
I live in Timisoara now but I grew up in a small town in Transylvania, so we had cows, I tried several times to milk them but it was really hard to get the milk out :) it was not my thing...
It is a tricky thing to do. It took me a while to get the hang of it.
We got lizards 2 types one we say soparla is small and brown and one we say guster is big and green
Guster( in Serbian too😮)
@@Touchedbynature304 never known we got similar words 🙂
Me neither😃@@florinssj2289
Thank you for sharing. I miss seeing lizards for sure.
@@MrGiant ussualy as kids we catch them on transparent bottle plastic and play them till get booring and then release them
the bread is placed on a sheet of cabbage
The beard looks really good . Homemade, the best.
Those are very isolated villages called "cătune" (plural). They're nice to live there if you want to be isolated and away from the society. That's organic lifestyle.
We in Serbia call it katuni too😊
@@Touchedbynature304 I was thinking that the word might be of slvic origin. Good to know that.
@@covaciumariusyou have many slav words, even turkish, just like us.
@@Touchedbynature304 true indeed.
@@covaciumariusI've just checked, the word is of vlachs origin, there are vlachs all over Balkan. Romanized balkan people- which means, you😊
Some answers to your questions:
-yes, all carriages must be registered (mostly because many times they drive on public asphalt roads beside cars, so in case of accidents, etc, the owner can be identified)
-we didn't hang out clothes for drying on the fences, I've never seen that, we used wires between two posts, as you said
-the outside toilet has many names in the Romanian language, but the general translation would be outhouse/latrine/private
-yes, we have lizards in Romania, in the countryside, and as far as I remember they are green and small
-yes, in most villages there's rather a collectivist life and not an individualistic one, like in the cities.. maybe not so much nowadays, but it's still there, while mostly lost in cities
One thing, I really didn't like how they put the horses to work, I understand they need them but it looks like animal abuse... Even 30 years ago, in my family horses were never used, we had tractors with trailers. This animal working is the ugly part of the countryside, in my opinion.
When I was a girl , there were many horse carriages on the streets of my little town. Very few cars. People used bikes mostly, so Pirot was called " little China". I used to walk barefoot, hike for miles..Us, kids loved to play with marbles, lastic, mud, ball. Girls were making mud cakes and flower juices😊We still use wires to dry clothes and there are still some outdoor toilets here in town and in all the villages around. And most of our women still bake bread from time to time( my husband does it better then me 😅). I wrote an essay 😂
@MaraNic-pon5x We call the outhouse Latrine too. I have not heard that word since I left the island. Wow. I felt the same way about the horses too.
Thank you for sharing. Its wild how much the same rural life is around the world.
@@MrGiant It think that people in rural areas all over the world had a universal faith- to menage with little, to learn from nature and respect it, to help each other when needed..Something that people from big urban areas cannot cope.
@@Touchedbynature304 Very true.
looks like (catun) is the name for smal family homestand in carpathian
put cream with garlic on donuts and cheese
yes we have lizards :D between 1" and 10"
I've milked cows and sheep, I know how it's done.
Send you love again from Romania❤❤❤
Hello Mr. Giant, the audio is kinda bad in this video, a lot of echoes. In your last video was much better, maybe you can revert to that :) The video is nice, it's filmed in the Hungarian part of Transylvania (which is the poorest part of Transylvania, not sure if there's a connection there but it might be :) )
Thank you for pointing that out. I had a little trouble with the mic and the software before recording never caught that the sound was bad. Hopefully it is fixed now. Hope you are having a great weekend.
Tare-mi place de voi,că habar nu aveți de nimic.Și noi râdem de voi.Noi suntem aici dintotdeauna și nu avem degând să lăsăm sataniștii să ne distrugă.
Great video, the audio quality is not so good this time
Thank you for pointing that out. I think I got it fixed, had issues when i first hooked up the software to record. Sorry about that, thank you for letting me know.
❤❤❤
