@@kommentier9884 yeah frostbite slowing you, lowering max HP and cutting your damage absorption is really a powergame concept. And frostbite also decays fairly quickly so the outrider was able to just continuously reapply it.
Hidden body and pestilent mist. I found the last two when I was tired, I legit didn't have the energy to fight them. Nor did I have the patience to run around after that Crystal Sage, so his fate was the same.
Plus, Ringed Knights have the common enemy poise, which is low as fuck and cant take a hit without staggering, Double Ultragreatswords having only poise comparable to the Outrider cus his weapon arts add poise.
I mean, poise is pretty much the only reason Outriders can win against Corvian Knights. They are very similar in terms of aggressiveness and combo-ability, and bleed is much more reliable for damage than frost. Thing is, Outriders are minibosses, unlike Ringed and Corvian Knights. Thay either guard a gateway (Road of Sacrifices), or secrets (3 non-mimic chests, 1 spell). Sooooo...yeah.
@@l0st5oul45 there are two with twin greatswords: the one just before halflight, which drops the weapon, and one in the desert map in which you fight Gael, and I remember this last one to be stronger than the others, kinda like how red eyed lothric knights are stronger than regular ones.
Unfortunately not one of the best weapons though :/ But it does make you wish there were more of those (ie : more with this aesthetic, not just more frost weapons). Like an irithyll longsword, or an irithyll axe, or mace.

I love that all of the "knight" like enemies are sorta balanced, like each of them can fight 1v1. Makes me want a royal rumble where there's one of each knight in one arena
Outrider Knights are probably the best PvE "Knights". They have low attack delays, they frostbite meaning the rest of the attacks they use deal more damage due to the percentage increase, they have *P O I S E* , they have a high health pool and they deal above average poise damage. I think they have the mettle to beat a few actual bosses, maybe Abyss Watchers for instance. And a group of them would be terrifying.
My money was on the outrider knight for the first two, I thought the Twin Greatswords Ringed knight would win, I didn't realize it would be THAT close.
All these videos really highlight the fact that bosses/enemies really don't dodge much, if at all. They facetank everything and rely on brute force with higher hp than the player character. All of these are pretty much just enemies swinging away at each other, and whoever does the most damage the quickest wins. Dodge roll is the ashen one's biggest strength!
Yup. There's a reason the one Ringed Knight with no shield did best relative to the Outrider Knight. Being aggressive and killing the enemy is always better than playing safe and defensively. Shields are fine as long as they don't engender passivity 😉
Fureal. Would be badass if there was at least one hidden in each area or every other one. Would make sense lore wise and would keep you even more on guard when exploring.
Didn't quite expect this outcome, but the outrider knights have a decent amount of poise and is quite aggressive which I presume helps it out when it does 1 on 1 against a lot of things. I assume the paired greatsword ringed knight was made more aggressive and given more poise to counter the lack of a shield, which is why it almost won.

Idk, the Undead Legion in it's entirety, Yhorm, and the Soul of Cinder could probably storm through Irithyll. The Abyss Watchers are agile and aggressive, and the Followers do high damage and operate in packs. Yhorm would no-sell the fire witches, and the SoC could toss magic around while Yhorm tanks.

Fire and ice!! This was really cool to see. Personally, I've farmed the ringed knights for hours before for souls and their armor and titanite. I hated every single fight against the outrider knights! and there's only 3!!

I think I get the meta in these vids. So Poise is king in most fights with whoever has the most poise generally winning. This can change depending on a few factors one is if both foes have high poise or can't be staggered then it comes down to who has the higher HP/Damage. Also if both have low poise then it comes down to who can hit faster/more frequently. The big outlier is if one fighter has a lot more damage then the other, since this changes the odds because if one can stagger the other but takes 20 hits to kill vs the opponent needing only 3 then the odds turn in the 3 hit guys favor. Also a factor to take into account in more even fights is movement since if one can say fly and dodge attacks if done frequently can change the outcome.

No matter how many times I had finished the game at this point, the outrider knights remain one of the hardest enemies for me. They're so fast and relentless, and their moveset is hard to predict.

Yeah, beast versus beast. I think Corvian will bleed outrider to death in a matter of seconds.
It would be interesting, though I'd give the poise knight a slight edge.

To this day, the outrider knights in lothric castle and the grand archives still terrify me.
u did the last ringed knight dirty. love that guy and that weapon. wtf he has a lot of poise in the game. there l1 attack is peak poise attack,. u making him staggered everywhere.
I love that the ringed knights always have the clanging sound when they get knocked down. It makes it really sound like they are getting knocked on their ass
this fight **boils** down to poise vs no poise
No matter how many times I had finished the game at this point, the outrider knights remain one of the hardest enemies for me. They're so fast and relentless, and their moveset is hard to predict.
Last one was very close, think he would die if you threw a pebble at him 😂
The true winning factor here is good ol poise. Doesnt matter how hard you hit when you lying there face down in the dirt
so basically, a ravenous berserking fighting style is greater than a noble-like fighting style that befits your average looking knight
I wanted to root for the Ringed Knights but in my soul I knew that there's only a handful of Outrider Knights in the game for a reason.
