Went 18-7 with this team which helped me to climb to veteran rank for the first time ever. it helped the fact that I had my community day earlier than most of the people that I faced, but man this team is strong! Poliwrath in the fossil cup with shield advantage is mayhem. Thanks for sharing the battles, it really helped me ❤❤

Fun fact, in the two shield scenario, shadow poliwrath with power up punch and ice punch goes 20-4-2 in the fossil cup

This thing can 2 shield through Ferro, tried it myself today and it was a ton of fun
I'm very tempted to use one for premier master. I somehow managed to find a wild 100 shiny and I think it could be a nice swap out for Machamp that I run with Mamoswine and Dragonite. Gives me ice and dynamic over cross chop and rockslide.

Either is viable imo. It really depends what your team comp is. I'm leaning toward Dynamic Punch because of how many water types are in use in Great League at the moment.
I really don’t know yet if power up punch would not be better than dynamic punch since counter would hit even harder 🤔

I tried this team and first opponent was Ferrothorn double mudboy. Anytime I get to about 2250 game fucks me with counters, over and over and over again!
i managed to catch a shiny perfect pvp IV poliwag for the GL! i was at work with my go++, i checked what i caught during my lunch and i was ecstatic!!
Water fighting such good typing current meta.. practically all counter types are gone. Unless count some single pokemon you dont really see much electric and psychic types on gbl.. wish psychic types get some new moves.. i count medi and deoxys more fighter this game than psyhic types xd

I’ve got a Hindi Poliwrath I’ve evolved and wanna use in the Master League someday.
I have Legacy Hundo Poliwrath from community day but I can’t use it for fossil cup because it went over 1500 and I spent all my dust and candy to build Legacy Politoed for great league

I got also shundo :D maybe someday when got extra dust i level it up for master prem..

Great showcase from the trainer here. Counter Poliwrath is such a great addition to pvp and looking forward to trying it out myself.
Poliwrath is one of the first xl mons I built for UL (granted it doesn't take much) so just waiting for the comm day to end tbh so I can elite tm Counter onto it. As for Politoed, idk if I'm gonna build it, and if I do I'd probably not even run Ice beam.
How good is XL poliwrath in the UL?

I think that Poliwrath as a lead is problematic, Shadow is the best in the Fossil cup right now: Normal or Purified are better as switches.

Can someone please answer why people are using 0 or 1 attack pokemons in pvp? Is there a specific reason for this?
0 attack lets you lvl up more so they become much tankier and more health. Better for pvp. Especially against mirror mons as yours would outlive their charged attacks in a battle of attrition
