I learned to do this in high school but I didn’t think anyone did it that way anymore. It just goes to show that professionals like you and your colleague are able to produce high quality results by leaning on your vast knowledge. Yet again another fantastic video. Thanks for such a great tutorial. ❤
your hand-sewn buttonholes look so beautiful! and thanks for sharing your expertise. It's good to know it's possible to do a buttonhole without a machine
Beautifully worked button holes from you both !! I don’t have much call for this because I specialize in bridal, formalwear, incldg repurposing bridal, & costumes. But taught myself buttonholes… obviously not such a big deal on the machine but as you mentioned if you are matching a buttonhole or using a special button you must freehand it. I wish I had videos like yours when I practiced about 25+ till I knew it was perfect. Looking at a professional one & not satisfied til mine looked the same. You are helping so many people that want to learn this business & learn it well!! Great job!!❤
Thanks so much for your kind comment! And yes, I mostly make buttonholes by hand except when I need to copy or when I custom make certain garments. Cheers! 😊
This is such a skill. I've had to create a buttonhole once only; however, I re-sewed it at least 4 times. Getting the thread to match the ooriginal buttonholes was a huge problem!
Thank you for showing how to make a beautiful properly-made hand buttonhole! I agree, it is a good skill to have. I learned how to make one in high school but haven't made one in a long time. I'm going to have to relearn this skill because it really elevates the look of a garment. Thanks again for the tutorial. ❤
I'm lucky enough to have a machine that will make these types of buttonholes. But sometimes I'll add some hand stitching in a metallic thread over the existing buttonhole just to make it a little "special."
Hello everyone! I forgot to mention that if you are using regular thread, you should use 2 to 4 strands to create a nice effect 😉
Thank you for teaching us the hand buttonhole technique. Both of your workmanship was beautiful. 😊
Thanks so much 🥰
Watched this video months ago (according to YT) and just watched again as a refresher. Thanks. YVR

Love handwork buttonholes. Give it a try! 😊 Do a practice one first. ❤

Gracias por sus videos. El hilo del hojal es de torzal? Gracias
Este no es torzal pero puedes usarlo!
I’ve always wondered: Why are buttons on different sides for men and women?
🪡🪡🪡🪡🙂🙂🙂🙂💗💗💗💗
🥰🥰🥰
Hello. I do it on the machine by hand 😢
I have a vest I made that is unfinished because it needs buttonholes. I've been too scared to mark and make them.
Ooohhh! I'll be delighted if let me know you did it! You can practice first and keep in mind that they take a little bit of time. Happy sewing!!!
