The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who disapprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". Also, tensions ran high on set because the rubbed each other up ths wrong way frequently and it made filming difficult.
But then they got together after so maybe the tension was from liking each other and they couldn't see it or didn't want to 😅

It's a Love story most of us dream about, but only few get to live. I had that once , a love like this. I guess i wasn't enough but i got to feel that Love. I will never settle for just love. It has to be a true love or I will be alone for life. Once u have it. Nothing else will ever do.
This kind of love is not one that you have forever. It is romantic and captivating but in real life it just cannot succeed, it will burn both people down.

@@jamiewoods9222, I think it is amazing when you're young but fireworks all the time shows that the relationship is not healthy, mature and won't create a steady environment for kids. The couple will also wear themselves down. I used to be in such a relationship where there were fireworks when we were happy and there were fireworks when we were fighting. It was almost never just balanced. When you grow up and have responsibilities, you can't deal with constant silly arguments that turn into fireworks for nothing. Even Ryan Gosling said that comparing his and Rachel's relationship to their film romance was doing them disservice. I don't know your age and where you're in life at the moment and won't try to assume just to avoid saying something that I can't know for sure but when I was younger I thought those kind of wild relationships were the goal and the real deal and I do cherish my firy first love story where we were also kind of separated. However, now when I am settled down I love that my relationship is nuanced - we get fireworks but we also get balance, fun, play, quiet, support, we solve real life problems, we do everything, it's not only 100 degrees up or 100 down. It's not exhausting. I don't know if that makes sense to you?

Some handle all the silly cute little figts and serious fights because there is this kind of great love which made people do everything.. Some people like you think it's nonsense and childish but in reality it's not.. May be you had love but I'm sure your love isn't this kind of epic love otherwise you won't be saying this..there's a lot of fire in this kind of love.. And everyone wants this kind of love in their heads but only some get to live it only some.. So yes these kind of love starts from kid to mature to finally had an end in old age.. It's a fairytale romance and a very matured full of understanding and unconditional love
The movie "The Notebook" what an incredible love story. The chemistry between the two actors was over the moon. We all should have this kind of love story. I know I did.
This is one of the most beautiful stories in film I've ever seen. Alzheimer's is so sad. Robbing people of all those memories. Hurting the people that take care of them. Having loved ones not know who you are. Breaks my heart. Great film thank you

These two actors are incredible. They both could bring the Notebook's characters alive. However, actually, they didn't get along during the early production (mostly the later scenes). Ryan hated her at that time, 'til he realized he really loved her actually.
