To be clear, Morissette is singing to a track. The voice you hear is the recorded version. The "one-take" is in reference to the camera work. There is a second version of this song which has multiple camera angles. That said....Morissette's singing is stunning. Her vocal and acting choices are always impeccable!

Yes, you're correct. The song was from a musical but not on Broadway. The song was from a locally produced gospel musical "First Name Anew" first staged way back in 1988. The song was originally recorded by Gary Valenciano who by the way you should also check out and react to. Check out his performance of "Spain" and "I will be here/Warrior is a child" mashup on the Wish Bus.

This is from a Christian Musical writen from Freddie Santos who sadly passed away in December 2020, Gary Valenciano who did the original arrangement and sang this song back in 1990, rearranged it for Morissette, try the finished Version.

Morisette never had a professional singing coach she is self trained her father was a rock musician and as a child she used to play with her dad’s karaoke unit that’s when her parents new that there child was gifted with a beautiful voice and that was morisette destiny as we all can see and hear how great she is the only training she had is a breathing coach that’s why she has that lung capacity to belt out high notes while sitting like ginger was amazed how morisette is sitting great reaction

This Video in the finished Version complettly editied has the the namens of those involved, the lyrics from Freddie Santos who sadly passed away in December 2020, the new arrangement is from Gary Valenciano who sang this back in 1990s, it's from a Philippinen Christian Musical, Dave lamar her husband produced the Video, Mori has many Videos where she is singing sitting or lying down even crossed legs on the bed with a keyboard thats normal for Mori, there are great Singers out there but Mori is the best female singer at this moment in time.

It's an original Filipino song in English.
I wonder if anyone actually caught the message of the song. It was very specific and very personal. She cried for a couple of reasons though. Not only did she fully believe what she was singing, but the lyricist for the song, who was a personal friend of hers, passed away from an accident only a few weeks before she made this video.
