Hey There! :) I recently started a little online business in Fiji. I sell eco-friendly products. I started making my own Beeswax Wraps. I was hoping you could teach me a few tricks to perfect them? 😓😇 I would really love your help in creating more sticky wraps. The first few I did were great, I made them over a pot over the stove and just dipped in my clothes. What do you do? They work fine however I noticed a few cracks over a few days perhaps because they have too much wax. I only use pure bees wax and no other ingredient. Do you think pine resin and jojoba are needed? I would really appreciate some tips. Thanks

If it were me, I would refresh them by placing between two pieces of aluminum foil and ironing them flat, then leave them to cool before peeling off the foil. Bonus is that you could probably reuse the foil over & over again for this purpose. I would try it myself, but I don't have wraps yet!

Steve Kurtz I actually tried that before this method and it just wasn't for me lol! It was really messy and I didn't care for the finished product as much.

Aluminum is a toxin which would defeat the whole concept of not using plastic

I reheat mine so that they are melted together again. You may need to add another layer of seasoning to it. Don't forget your jajoba oil. I'll have my updated recipe up soon!

It's been over a year since you made this video, are these wraps still working well? Is there a point where they need to be replaced completely? I can't wait to make some!!

I made mine several years ago, and they still work. I don't use jojoba oil, though. I found that though they look very stiff, once your hands warm them, they shape perfectly. There is no antimicrobial benefit to using jojoba oil, just cosmetic. It is also driving me batty that she's saying "refreshening"--gah! it's freshening or refreshing. Sorry. Had to scream that at someone.

I am trying to figure out soywax wraps at this time, I haven't quite mastered them to be honest. I don't know if I would try a hair dryer for this project as the oils will need to be very hot. I feel like that might be a fire hazard lol.

eileenfb1948 you can simply shake the crumbs and wipe out the inside. Wipe with a damp cloth and if needed a tiny tiny amount of soap on the dish cloth. Hang dry and re-season as needed 😊

I did coconut oil this last week, only I used just about 1/3 amount of coconut oil to bee's wax (I've heard of a higher ratio but I think it leaves a greasy feel). I hardened the coconut oil in the fridge (you can freeze it if you're in a hot climate) and grated it in with the grated bee's wax. It worked really well and just a hint of coconut smell which was nice with the bee's wax. As you said, the oil stops them from cracking as badly 😊
