So yeah Vergil didn’t know he had a kid and V probably though Nero was Dante’s kid.

I like the idea that he's so in pocket of hating Dante and trash talking him that he instinctively bad mouthed his theoretical son just to spite Dante, not quite absorbing the idea that he actually has a son. Way funnier that way. So yeah, headcanon.
It is just contagious how much you adore the DMC characters.
Watching someone play devil may cry 5 for the first time and have so much fun and care about the characters is always peak fun.
The Pre Viz sequences are peak Bonus Content and more games need to do / include them.

the most impressive thing about DMC is how its not afraid to be FUN, even if it can get painfully hard at times(people who played the original american release of DMC3 will remember the pain of some of those bosses) or repetitive with the repeated mission layouts in 3 and 4 but it still was always FUN above all else.

Just when I had no clue what to watch, my favorite new DMC player uploads a banger. Glad you had so much fun with it.
Just so you know:
- When Griffon says that it is "the end of Vergil's Nightmares", this is because when Mundus turned Vergil into Nelo Angelo, he literally deconstructed his body, mind, and soul, corrupted it, and reassembled him. So Vergil is falling apart prior to his split because he had to regrow his entire soul and purge Mundus' corruption.
- This is also why V has such a visceral reaction to the Scudo and Proto Angelos. Those were creations made after the same design as Nelo Angelo.
- Nero asking Kyrie how it feels to rescue the man that killed her father is a reference to Dante killing Agnus, the guy that had the stutter and performed experiments in DMC4. He also used the knowledge and armor fragments of Nelo Angelo to construct the Bianco and Alto Angelos as well as the false Savior.
- Dante saying that fighting the trio of familiars is like being back on Mallet island is because all 3 were based on the demons that served Mundus in DMC1, which took place on Mallet island. Nightmare was originally more of a shapeshifting sludge monster than a hulking beast, but the other 2 look fairly similar to their original counterparts, though griffon got an all-black recolor.
- The Qliphoth fruit is also what made Mundus able to become king of hell in the first place, giving him the power to overthrow the demon known as Pluto. This would've been when the tree grows in hell, which has FAR less access to human blood. So you can imagine how powerful the fruit made Urizen after he ate it. The fact that Dante still made lightwork of him AND could still do battle with Vergil after only a short recovery (during which he fought more bosses) is endlessly impressive.
- Lady telling Nero that he'd never recover from patricide, as you likely know, comes from her experiences in DMC3. What you may not know is that it GREATLY affected her beyond just emotional scarring. She never gives herself a chance to move past it and instead drowns herself in jobs, even refusing to go out for a drink with her friends, something that concerns Morrison (who invited her).
- You likely noticed and it simply wasn't in the video, but V says that the demon Dante must fight his "your reason for fighting". The demon he told Nero was named "Urizen". Your reason. HA.

What a positive experience, thank you for sharing, so fun! DMC is great. But for me I went all the way up to dmc4 as they came out, then it was the bizarre DmC reboot which was so upsetting. And it was 10 fuckin years until dmc5. Those years were bleak but now DmC just seems like a joke, when it was a nightmare at the time.
My all time favorite game always go back to it

2:13 Funny story, recently I played through this game again after maxing out everyone's move sets and skills and I found out that if you beat the Urizen in the prologue, it just goes right to the credits.
If you actually manage to to beat the tutorial boss it unlocks a secret ending. It's almost impossible if you're not playing on new game plus, though.
