It's hard to believe that some people feel or relate to this song, cause we're conditioned to see a certain type of appearance as above it all and I stereotypically felt that someone like violet orlandi could pretend to relate to some people out of kindness, but I think she actually understands the song and relates to it personally. Some people see something different when looking at themselves that others don't see, both good and bad.
Appearance is only one part of the equation.
Yes, she looks like a goddess, but it wouldn't be hard to see her as growing up "othered" by those around her, for being different.
Dutch band Delain actually has a great song about this: "we are the others", even if you don't like the song, look up it's tragic, real-life backstory..
It'll help you understand how even one as Violet could genuinely feel like an outcast "freak".
