A-44 is a bit special in it was built as a duplication of a road built in the late 1970s bypassing the older alignment. This road was half a motorway, with gentle bends and few straight bits. That's why there are tunnels.
Very nice, quite a mountainous Autovia. I was surprised by the relatively high amount of traffic compared to other Autovias in the central-south of Spain. The mountains are full of olive trees, nice to see how it looks in this region north of Granada, definetely less toristic than other areas of Andalusia. Fun Fact: All heavy vehicles from Madrid to Almería or to Southern Murcia Region take the exit at 11:32 (A-308 Exit) to avoid crossing the Puerto de la Mora Mountain Pass. It's also quicker and easier to take that road instead of using A-44 & A-92, specially in the winter, when the A-92 is closed at the Puerto de la Mora Mountain Pass due to heavy snow

I went down this road a week ago on my way to Almuñécar, it's one of my favourites in the country. Please do Granada - Motril as well, it gets even better! :-) Much love.
I have traveled several times on this highway.. I always liked doing it., I felt safe driving in smooth curves, I really felt enjoyed. If you return to Granada, I recommend you to travel by this same highway (A44) from Granada capital to Motril. I liked your video. Thank you.

Vaya, por lo que veo, en esta autovía muchos usuarios tienen la misma mala costumbre que en la A-23, la mudéjar, y cuando los vas a adelantar, aceleran como si les fuese la vida en que no los pases.
Esta un mar de olivares, mires por donde mires hay olivares. Incluso desde dentro del coche llega el olor a aceite. Plantados muy juntos, mucho en cuestas y cerros. En fin, parece ser que por estos valores y que no ha llovido, este año 2022 será un ano malo de aceituna.
siento decirte que en el min 9:28 añades un rotulo que dice ¨ Sierra Nevada 3479m¨ y esa montañas no son sierra nevada,, sierra nevada se ve justo cuando llegas a granada pasado el pantano de cubillas
@@darkstarml 2020, es la altitud max. La verdad, no esperaba que la sierra Arana tuviera esos contrastes.. también me creí que es Sierra Nevada, aunque he pasado pocas veces por este tramo.
Haz el viaje en otoño o invierno y verás las montañas nevadas y los valles verdes y los arroyos… las nieblas varios en tramos del trayecto y entenderás que esta grabada en verano y porque esta carretera te lleva a la montaña más altas de España Peninsular
No es de lo más seco.... la A-92 salvo por el tramo cerca de Sierra Arana y de Huétor, tiene menos verdor en verano... sobre todo por el desierto de Tabernas.
Visitè España hace 10 años, y estuve en Granada. España es el país más lindo del planeta. Saludos desde México.

Spain has a lot of mountain ranges of over 2,000 meters. Most of those are pretty unknown outside of Spain.
Try the Road which pass through "Despeñaperros" mountains and is the "Gate" of Andalucía if hoy are coming from the north of Spain

I've recorded Granada - Motril in a previous video. Also upcoming (some time in the future) is a video of the new A-44 around Granada.

In Spain the exit number corresponds with the km of the road.

Las montañas que señala son Sierra Arana, no Sierra Nevada.
