Another superb review, Thank you! 👍
I wanted the M3 as I love using 50mm lenses, however, I managed to get hold of an M1 (no rangefinder) for a good price and will be getting an M2 rangefinder installed early next year (the M1 is basically an M2 minus a rangefinder and with the rangefinder window blocked off.) The viewfinder covers 35mm and 50mm lenses, but like you correctly pointed out, 50mm coverage is best on the M3..
Keep up the good work my friend! 😊👌

    Hey Tony!
I was thinking about picking up a 35 mm camera. I wanted a rangefinder but the Leica M6 is a little too pricey. Do you have any cheaper recommendations? The ones I saw don't have manual controls or a light meter.
The second option would be a SLR. I have a Voigtländer 58 1.4 in F mount so I could pick up a Nikon or try to find a cheap Leica R with a 50 lens. I have manual Fuji X mount glass but I done know if it works with older cameras.
Could you please help me out?

The Leica 35/3.5 M-lenses with (and even without!) goggles have become horribly expensive. For the quality this lens delivers, there are better and cheaper alternatives out there which you can use with an external viewfinder in the hotshoe. The Leica 35/3.5 lenses with goggles are now falling into the category of collector items, therefore the crazy prizes.

Most second hand Leica M3 cameras are very overrated.
A CLA does not always make it a long life lasting item.
Too much so called repair shops, run by tinkers,
do a minimum CLA of the Leica M3 body,
to keep the costs low for the hobby Leica trader.
The Leica focal plane shutter which SOUNDS well,
    is not properly checked.
