I sometimes wonder if it was as simple as Elan4 was borrowing with intent to return (and earn through a duel, which he wasn't going to win) but Elan5 intended to steal. And like Suletta said, cheating is wrong... unless you're the protagonist, then it's a cheat skill. Or a sister.
@@samoanjoseph1457 the way i see it eri has leeway as far as how the Aerial can function. she cant operate solo and it takes a high permet score before she can communicate clearly but as far as systems go she can do as she needs (given how she first shut el5n out, then auto activated to her highest level). since suletta was ok with el4n and gave him permission to try operating aerial, eri gave el4n permission in return. if he had tried actually stealing her, then eri wouldve kicked him out or burned his nervous system on the way out but he wasnt an immediate issue the way el5n was

@@voids98 I doubt it. Suletta activated Aerial and gave him permission to try. This time he'd be trying to activate her with intent to Suit Jack. She'd probably get suspicious if Suletta wasn't nearby. Theoretically, he could try to lie to her, saying Suletta is in trouble and he wants to reunite them. But it's hard to say how gullible Eri is at this point and we don't know if she can read the mind of her pilot. If Eri has done any growing up, then her appearance belies her nature. She's 25, but her mind was decanted at age 4 and it's impossible to say what that would do to a mind so young since the human brain takes about 25 years to fully develop. Suletta could serve as a template for Eri to imitate, but it would be an imperfect imitation.
@@voids98 Yes, I did allude to Eri possibly having the emotional/intellectual capacity of a child. Her mind was uploaded at age 4. So the question becomes "Can a mind mature without the maturation cycle of the human brain driving changes?". Or does Eri still see everything through the lens of a 4 year old girl?
One of the burning questions for me is the precise relationship between Eri and Suletta. Are they half-sisters (ie did mom find another man)? Or was Suletta cloned from Eri's preserved remains? Their features are too similar to ignore the question.
@@voids98 El4n and El5n's intentions would've been the same, which is to steal Aerial, it would've made no difference. They're both doing what they need to to survive after all, they're equally as sympathetic.
This episode Prospera finally makes sense to me.
She's obviously insane though she was pretty good at hiding it. Eri dying from exposure makes the whole turn into a moblie suit make sense. And how she interacts with Sulietta makes sense too. She only cares about Eri and Sulietta is just a tool. The only times she shows pride is when Suiletta is in Ariel.
Makes me think the end-game is just shoving Eri into Sulietta's body using Permet

Well they both had her phone/tablet thing as well as the fact that El4n had permission. Also, Aerial has gone to permet score 6 twice so far, which might have something to do with Eri being more conscious/aware.

11 "Eri's" floating the main one like the 11 bits float around the Aerial. Seems like the leading theory of Suletta being the lastest of many clones of Eri is all but confirmed. And considering how disposable the Elan's are treated that doesn't bode well for our girl. Especially since Prospera only seems to care about Suletta as a means to an end to get Eri back.
Elans aren't clones, their treatment has nothing to do with anything.
This scene, from this to Prospera getting confronted by Mio after Sulettas brainwashing, I was so scared I screamed at the final scenes

I find it actually interesting that Elan Four got far better treatment than the original when Eri immediately recognized this wasn't the Elan Suletta trusted and liked.

Interesting that the main Eri is surrounded by a ring of eleven more Eris. Eleven Eri duplicates in the data storm, eleven Gun-Bits... eleven attempts before Suletta succeeded.

Makes me wonder what made Eri finally become protective of who enters Aerial,since the other Elan controlled it last season and he was fine. I think either the fight against Elan 1 or Shaddiq fully awakened Eri inside of Aerial and now she has more control of who pilots her through the data storm.
Suletta did say Elan could try piloting Aerial, so that might be why as well.
I think Eri has been fully awake the entire time, but she intentionally allowed the other Elan in S1 because Suletta had given permission. Meanwhile in this case Eri hasn't spoken to Suletta in a while, and suddenly comes a person who says "Sorry I will steal your family now" lol.

Elan Four was accepted by Suletta, and when he asked for consent, Eri was fine with it given how he was treating her in front of Eri.

@@ReptilianLepton You misunderstand, throughout Gundam history, any time a person has been...consumed by a Gundam, it's implied or outright stated that what remains within the machine is their soul. That part which is inviolate and unable to be copied. So the other 11 "Eris" are likely failed clones of the original of which Suletta is the first successful version.
Aerial has reached a higher permet score, which was Lady Prospera's plan, it's why she is able to act more independently against people she doesn't want piloting her.
Miorine and El4n being able to pilot her may have less to do with them having "permission", and more to do with Aerial having not been awakened yet.
Nah we know from supplemental material that Aerial's been sentient for over a decade at least

I'm honestly willing to bet that Aerial would let Miorine "pilot" her even now tbh. Mio has a strong bond with Suletta, and Aerial is likely aware of it and the lengths Miorine has gone to protect both her and Suletta from the Beneritt Group's attempts to get them destroyed.

This scene seems to suggest that Eri can tell this is Elan 5, not Elan 4 (who briefly piloted Aerial). I believe this is because Eri has the NewType-ish power of telepathy and was able to tell this is a different person from the previous Elan.
This is also the first time we actually see Eri speak, and solidify the fact that Eri is her own character different from Suletta (who is totally oblivious to the fact that she is dealing with a different Elan). This then bring the question of what Eri's motivations and goals are, especially that in this episode we know Suletta is more or less a brainwashed robot.
No telepathy required, Permet particles interface directly with the entire body including the brain, so Eri definitely knew that Suletta was fine with Elan 4 piloting her but not Elan 5, especially if Suletta talked to her about Elan acting "strange" or whatever, and considering Elan 5 is biologically a different person she'd have no problem detecting him.
I'm also assuming you meant robot figuratively, cuz a lot of people mean it literally and don't seem to understand that ya don't need to be a robot to be brainwashed lol

When Guel starts to pilot Aerial Eri will ask him right away "So, you want to date my sister huh?" and he'll be flustered to a higher degree than his permet score.

The gund system pretty much is this universes version of a psycho frame. They just stuffed Oldtypes into it and it didn´t go so well.

Prospera's endgame must be to transfer Ericht's memories to Suletta's body once she reaches permet score 8.
This explains why she always treats space tanuki like a disposable pet, unlike her real daughter.
The Eri inside Aerial is biometric data, essentially a human recreated inside Permet particles, these aren't her memories or her consciousness, you can't shove biometrics into someone's brain lol
@@Peasham Elan's "meeting" with Eri showed that she is more than just "biometrics". Suletta also talks to her frequently. Maybe she does not have the same memories as the original, but we now know that Quiet Zero is Prospera's plan to "bring her back" or "go where she is" which might be just the madness of a mother who can't cope with loss that will create a sh1tst0rm but she will do it anyway.
@@exukvera Well no, you could absolutely digitally recreate a person using biometrics, including having them develop a consciousness. It's definitely sci fi, but... yeah that is the genre of the show. Either way, Suletta reached score 8 in the newest episode and Eri is not in the Aerial anymore, as shown by its OS changing from ER to 2.0, the same OS the Lfrith had in the prologue, if prospera wanted to transfer her into Suletta she'd have actually done that by now instead of literally leaving the school where Suletta is as the transfer happened.

The Gund Bits seem to be controlled by copies or fragments of Eri. They all like like Eri and act the same. From the story "Cradle Planet" Eri/Aerial does not remember being the child Eri and honestly thinks she is an advanced AI and not an uploaded person. (It's also possible that Aerial is a copy of Eri and her mom doesn't realize/refuses to see not it's the original person). sm

What has me worried, and i don't know if this has been addressed in the episode or not and i missed it, but seeing those patterns on Eri's face that look as though they are eating away at her...does that mean the more Suletta uses the Gundam, especially at higher levels, the more of Eri vanishes until there's nothing left?

I think its the opposite, it reflects that the Gund program doesnt affect her. When a pilot is being affected in a negative way, the patterns are red, and the fact that Eris' are blue indicates she no longer has that issue, the Gund format doesnt affect her
There's nothing to eat away at, Eri isn't physically there, the real Eri died, this is her biometric data.
She had those in the Prolog and clearly were showing the connection was killing her. Thus Elnora had to let the computer intake her data to save Eri as a Permet being.

I dunno if this is a thing or not but it hit me that there's a possibility Suletta's "mom's" helmet is similar to Eri in that its connected to another being and she probably wears it as an atonement because we've seen she doesnt wear the mask for a blemish and she isnt really hiding her identity like the usual Char mask wearers.
I mean, Propsera outright told Mio during their confrontation at the end of the most recent episode that she contantly hears the dead whispering in her ear driving her towards vengeance, and while that's all nice 'n' poetic, I'm kinda thinking that, yeah, she means it literally.
I'm not sure about the logistics of it, but would bet it has something with the helmet. Given the other ways this series is touching on transhuman horrors beyond our understanding, I wouldn't be surprised if it involved like partially reconstructing her late family, coworkers, & friends as AI models, from a mix of her own memories, media, their social media profiles, any papers & academic publications, and the like.

We don't know the exact sircumstances behind why Eri is Aerial yet. So we can't really say for certain if it was done maliciously or if it was done to save her life.
Cause this is not the work of a human but a devil wearing a skin of a human with not even an candle in the wind ounce of humanity
Actually, we do, Prospera said so herself at the start of the episode that Eri became part of the Gundam Lufrith as she was unable to survive the harshness of space travel. The Lufrith was then later turned into the Aerial.

In this specific case, the alternative was death. It is debatable if Prospera made the right choice, but I personally won't use this act against her, not if it is as she presented it.
