I can imagine very well how the part about EF will be in the netflix documentary. "It's the LAST week of the tour and EF hasn't won a stage yet, even though they tried so often." then a sad Ben Healy face. and then in the race - Carapaz is going to say something like "yeah I turned my head off and just went at it, thinking this is my shot!" and then they celebrate in the team car and there is sentimental music and everything

Please do not believe he did not know, he wanted to check how Jonas reacted after 179 km. This gives him some insights for Stage 19 where he will be attacked. I was astonished that Tadej survived this hot day so well, normally hot weather is his weak point, but Visma could not take advantage; brilliant tactics from Visma, strategically put Riders in all positions to be able to protect Jonas or if Tadej showed weakness to gain some valuable time. What is Remco planning? Will he have balls and fight for the second position on Stage 19? Now, Visma and also UAE Team have to realize that Remco is still fresh and can attack? Was that his initial plan to attack during the last stages? Fireworks are starting on Stage 19/20.

Thousands of people have Olympic medals. Zero have won the triple in a single year . Doing that would basically cement him being the greatest cyclist in history

Narvaez beat Pogi straight up on stage 1 of the Giro, and the parcours is a lot more suited to him than Carapaz. Ecuador only have one spot, and he has the better chance. You can argue the way they distribute starting spots is unfair, but with the rules as they are, the right Ecuadorian is going to the race

Easier said than done, but it seems possible at this rate and level Pogacar can win 5-6 stages a year for the next 4-5 tours and catch Cav....As long as it doesn't hurt his GC chances by over extending himself or putting himself in danger I hope he goes for it and doesn't continue to let people win stages when he's clearly the best out there. That said Chapeau Carapaz and gratz EF

given how dominant he's been, he's won 3 with 4 stages left. that's quite a big ask then to double up and sustain that doubling up without any new superpower coming through in the meantime over that time period. or any further injury setbacks etc. he'll get plenty more, sure, but not enough to top cav, not at that rate at least.

Jonas cracked. Brilliant move by Tadej! He allows Remco to gain time on Jonas so the pressure on Jonas is now coming from Tadej and Remco. Psychologically, I think this will affect Jonas. He was dropped and gapped by both Tadej and Remco on the Cat 1 climb.

Tadej and Remco conspired against Jonas. Tadej attacked and made Jonas work hard to respond just to reveal that he was tired and then Remco attacked him.

I wonder why Remco closed the final bit to Pogi on that descent? If I was Remco, that’s 100% Jonas’ problem.
There was a section just before the crest of the mountain after Pogi attacked where he looked he was absolutely flying. Same thing with the final sprint.

he claimed in the post-race interviews that he was concerned about the gap to those below him on gc, but that doesnt ring true, given the time advantage he has on them, and it felt more like he was seeing what time he could claw back on JV
