He is so emotionally intelligent, I believe that his empathy towards the characters, his honesty and his love for the little details make him such a different (and amazing) film director.

It's also because he was a child hood actor so he's been in the industry for a long time

"Character's not only someone who walks around saying lines. It's someone who wears nail polish and wears wool socks in their sandals. And they have designs on the back pockets of their jeans, they have highlights in their hair, they have a way to laugh, they have a way to cry, they have a way to fan their eyes, because they're too emotional suddenly. All these little details that we find so much pleasure in finding with the actors are to me the difference between a movie where you don't care about human beings and the movie where you do care about human beings."

Enjoyed the last few questions more as they were more cohesive. I think one of the big things too is how the aspect ratio creates a sense of entrapment along with the way the movie is shot up close and when we pull away or open up the ratio we feel the freedom.

OMG... This man is a wonderful and desirable version of how MAN should be like.
Cinema intelligence and drive for uniqueness just shows through his conversation.
Loved his mildly self depricating humour probably it's a Canadian thing.
Whoever is dating him is surely lucky.

He is gradually recovering and coming to himself, gradually forgiving his mom. ... Nevertheless, it's surprising how this nuerotic boy has grown up into such a wise analytical person.
