I don't extract camp but for some quests I will load into a raid and immediately jump into a bush, tab out, watch a show and then tab back in to eat food and do my quests lol

In the limited Extract Camps I have done, I find its really not fun nor economical. I think most 'extract campers' are not camping at all, but just a cloak point. Opportunity is opportunity. But its not as common as people think. By far more hackers out there then Extract Campers. By far!
Extract camping is not the fastest way to make money, but it is probably, if you know how to do it, and I do know some very nasty spots, the most risk averse strat.
Try factory with an mp-155 with buckshot... the loadout costs like 40k and the return can be quite extreme
Factor is boring. I don't get why people grind in there. That's why we have other FPS games. But then again, I do image Arena will be sucessful, if they can keep the hackers at bay.
Interchange by far is the best and easiest spot to extract camp imo especially early to mid wipe. Someone is normally bound to go into either the railroad or highway extract and both those have incredibly scummy spots under the train and vehicles.
@@teaser6089 I can almost guarantee a 300-500k run in 10 minutes, as can anyone with knowledge on the game, absolutely nobody is hitting those numbers with exfil camping

Extract camping is a valid strat, it's also easy to counter. Just don't run like a headless chicken to the extract,
cause you believe there is some code of chiverly that says: "At which hour thee see a pmc within 25 meters of the extract, thee shall not killeth the pmc".
It doesn't exist, clear corners, observe and pre-nade, pre-med whenever you feel like you need to ensure a safe extract, know the spots people usually use to camp, and shoot them before they know what is coming.

small hint: don't move while you're shooting, specially full auto, specially if your legs are black: huge loss of accuracy, and you move so slow while shooting it doesn't even really help avoid incoming fire. Better take half a second more, and shoot accurate.
Always hated exit camping. But now that I hate inertia and weight, I consider doing it way more often.

Funny story I had to do that bunker quest on reserve and I spawned in the bunker so I got my stuff done and ran down to D2 all clear tell I get to those metal stairs in that big open areas and I hear footsteps then fighting so I lay low only armed with a Mosin some ps rounds and my steel nerve then the fighting stops and only 1 set of footsteps remain I was hoping they would just take the extract but no he came to the big room and then started aiming towards the entrance I waited for him to stand still I held my breath then BAM! Free mp5 t5 gear svd raid bag and some other goodies haha all from being a naked Mosin rat

1 year late but, doing quests and things like that can help with ammo costs, etc. making exfil camping much more effective. I also like to bring in a huge bag on interchange when I rat, hide it in a special spot and then when I get kills, all the kits and stuff go in the huge bag i brought. Then leave with like less than 15 minutes left, or just take emercom if I started at railway and moved to emercom to rat. EZ 10 survivals in a row doing things like this, bringing in sj6 if I want to waste the money to get to a spot first. Stash worth 50m today feels good. i dont always rat but when i do its planned thoroughly and its fun + makes money.

I've extract camped a single time and got friend request and salty message from the 2 people I killed. Those 2 messages were more enjoyable than any loot they could have possibly had.
In short, I now understand why people extract camp.

It is solely their fault. Extract campers are bad at the game, if you die to them, you're even worse.
If you learn the spots you can learn where to check for them. For Emercom exfil on Interchange alone I always check Heaven (the overhang at Oli), check ontop of the tents near the exfil, glance through the woods on the blue wall, and approach exfil using the defilades on the sides of the roads to limit the directions I can be shot from.
You can make big bucks from looting the exfil campers :)

Extract campers vary, but they are like landmines, or snipers: You just die. How is it your fault for dying against a coin flip?
@@a.k8185 if snipers just sit in one place all game, then yeah, they are bad at the game. That's not how you snipe properly, you must play around where other people are. Actually, they are worse than exit campers, because exit campers at least realize that someone has to visit the extract at some point in the raid, while it's not necessarily true for any other place on the map.
You just die if you don't take precautions. Just like IRL. I'm not saying you can always do that, but you can make it not a coinflip at all in terms of chances.

Snipers vary, they can sit around in the middle of nowhere, or right next to the extract. Moving is not exactly necessary, albeit it is sensible.
While you make decent points, i kind-of meant more of the "asshat" kind than skillful. They end up boiling into a similar stew whatever they are.

My last unintended camping kill was literally as i was waiting for my friend who was still inside the interchange mall and some guy rolled up and posted up right besides me, looking towards the emercom ramps. Honestly o don't know who was extract camping who at that point but he was 25 meters away from me and he was standing still so he definitely was doing it too

I honestly hated the Tarkov grind for so long. Just worse and worse quests, the only real fun I got was killing players through ambushing and stalking. Extract camping became the logical conclusion to that (Where does everyone go, no matter what?) I've had run ins with campers myself, guys who actually clear the place, and those who were absolutely clueless, but I think you describe it best in the video, its an unfair advantage in the same way everything else ingame is an unfair advantage. Snuck up on someone while they were distracted? Unfair. Running in groups? Unfair. Third partied a firefight? Unfair. Tarkov was never about fair fighting, and the extract shouldn't be any different.
I just feel bad that I never got fan mail, which used to be my favorite thing back during the days of xbox live.

Sometimes I toss nades into known camping spots. Got 3 in one go one raid.
If you want good camping spots and how to Rat. Look no further then Stankrat. It follows a good camping spot close to your current extract (or planning to a SJ6 run in the last 8-12 mins of raid), correct time to take the kill, clearing your sector BEFORE looting (sometimes wait a bit before looting to see if you can catch someone W keying towards the gun fire), quickly looting (don't stay near your kills for long or scavs or PMC's might come upon you mid loot). Then extracting said loot. I ratted my Setup kills, im talking 3 kills in some raids and dead others. You also dont have to just camp extracts, bushes of any type are your friend with a camo hat and your gun down prone. I swear everyones blind when it comes to looking at bushes at the corner of their screen.
I remeber when on customs there were 2 extract campers in ZB-1011, I knew they were there cuz I heard someone walking. I threw grenade and took all their stuff, they were lvl26 and 23. Later that day Ive got literal death threats (and they were thinking I was cheating)

But for real, if you know the spots, you can just throw a grenade or just prefire the area. You're gonna exfil anyways, so why risk your life and loot for a few extra rubbles worth of bullets and grenades?

by the way interchange is the hardest map to extract camp everyone totally expects it in my experience granted theres only two sides usually so. i understand why but at the same time reserve streets customs are all a bit better in my opinion
Reserve only has 1 good extract to camp without fear of getting got imo. Smart tarkov players will clear D2 and Hermetic Door. Manhole on the other end, you can fuck them

I don’t exit camp, not because I think I’m above it or anything, I just don’t survive long enough in raid to catch people on their way out. Scavs, enemy PMCs, or glitches that kick me from the raid (this one is the most common) prevent me from being able to get across the map to extractions.

i did a factory raid with my friends and we saw the extract open super early so we just looted up till 10minuntes and then killed the extract campers in there with grenades. so glad i got to waste their time

that is why you bring a grenade for emercom extract :)
Tips from a Professional Extract Defender:
1. The reason u died so much while trying to get to extract is because you B-lined towards the extract at the start of the raid. So what you should do is get as far as you possibly can without the posibilty of crossing another spawns path, this requires some map and spawn knowledge but shouldnt be to hard.
2. Interchange really isnt the best map for this in my opinion especially if you do it in the way where you lie in the extract that you dont have yourself, I recommend much more to use a long range weapon and to lie in a bush where you have good view of the extract that you have yourself. A weapon anyone can use once they unlocked the flea is the SVD, preferably with a suppresor.
3. Go on Shoreline or Reserve to camp those are the best option in my opinion with reserve being the classic itself and shoreline at nighttime for the camping of resort chads who very often have quad-nods aswell as thermals sometimes.

The only problem i have with extract camping is when the devs force you to go to that extract. You can't attempt another one. Instead, you are forced there. It's a mechanic that forces pvp in a game where you can avoid pvp 100% of the rest of the time.
Avoid PVP 100% of the time? That if you exclude questing, when you do questing, trust me, you are forced to PvP.
Ah yes, the other reason I play SPTarkov and not the live version.

There are few better feelings in Tarkov than hearing a group approach, biding you time, and taking them out with the element of surprise. Knowing all they had to do to avoid it was slow down, clear, and pay attention makes it all the better. One person actually doing their job can send me back to stash, but they decide to be clueless. I'll take the good and the bad.
they are not bad. the issue is there are tooooo many of them. if the developers do something to encorage those players to take more risk in raid, not punishing them but something they found rewarding in explore the map, fight other prayers or some other thing would inprove the game and will reduce the amount of rats and extract campers.
If you got the bonus XP for exploration on every raid and not just the very first time your character ever steps foot in a location, and they changed the FIR system to switch items to FIR after a certain amount of XP is earned in a raid even if you die, then it'd encourage people to take more risks by actually going to loot spots themselves, gathering the shit, and then staying in the raid to continue fighting instead of immediately running to the extract where the extract campers are awaiting their hand delivered FIR Killa helmet.
And I say this as an extract camper and long time rat myself, there's very little incentive to actually participate in the raid unless you're doing quests, extract camping is just objectively the best and easiest way to make money and get those FIR quest items.
