- King Charles and Queen Camilla had a private tour of the Lochcarron of Scotland weaving mill in Selkirk, as their visit to Scotland came to an end.
The Royal couple visited the dyehouse, warping, weaving and production shed and also toured the warehouse, where Lochcarron houses more than 500 tartans.
With King Charles donning a kilt of his own, they also viewed banners created by local school children in a community collaboration programme, and passed the tartan wall, which portrays the historical flags associated with Selkirk and Galashiels.
Charles and Camilla will also paid a visit to the marketplace in Selkirk where an array of local produce was on show, along with a stunning crocheted crown that had been produced by a yarn bomber to mark the coronation.

It’s a shame their visit is coming to an end. At a time of uncertainty and coming out of a cost of living crises, they have filled Scots hearts with hope for a better future, and spread a breath of fresh air over the land.
Scotland salutes them both. 👍
