I think Maya Bilal took so hard on hasan and hasan managed it well... But I think they were wrong. If you stretch a drama so much than reviewers to criticize kry gy hi. It's job of critic. We love u hasan and amna. Release the whole drama together if u want them to review it after watching as a whole. And hasan amna barely criticize actors, they criticize production director writer mostly...

What a ridiculous thing to say that only those who have made a drama can critique it. Agree with Hassan 100%. Most of us haven't built a car but we still have opinions on what we like. We won't go and buy just any car in the market. I'm sure everyone works hard on a movie/tv set especially those behind the camera. Lots of respect for what they do. But I'm sorry, if they deliver crap content, they will get criticism.

Why do actors shy away from critics and reviews? No job can be done without hard work. No one demeans the actors. The review is about story, direction, production and acting. Normally the criticism is on the story, on issues and some debatable scenes. The actors generally are praised for their performance. Hassan should have told Maya to watch her drama Jo Bichar Gaye reviews.

Why do these celebrities have a meltdown about constructive media criticism of their work? These actors must know that constructive criticism is the only way to grow and improve on one's weaknesses. Instead of complaining about working conditions, It's high time that these actors appreciate the fame, glamour, and money they are enjoying from this profession. Everyone works hard for their respective jobs. But, not every hard-working job means more money. Both of them should be thankful for all the perks they enjoy from being a celebrity.

Why is Maya getting so triggered and sound so bitter? So as per her all forms of critique is unjustified? Only an actor who is insecure about her craft will say something like that. It's funny how she said one should choose words wisely when it's her who was belittling all critics. The way she painted all critics with the same brush and disparage them was so uncalled for. Her reasoning was so absurd and even Bilal for that matter could not come up with a logical explanation. Actors garmi sardi men kaam kerte hain tu bes seb kuch unko maaf. What?? Hassan and Aamna have years of journalism experience under their belt and they are the finest critics in the country. If she only wants folks from the same field to critique then I suggest she watches the reviews by veteran actors who are equally unhappy with what is going on in the dramas these days. Learn to take constructive criticism in your stride and your audience will appreciate and respect you more.

  • @iqra8532

Why actors are so sensitive towards reviews and opinions of critics?? I think most people resonate with what hassan and amna has to say about dramas , they give words to our thoughts and they reach all the people involved in making of the drama. There are annoying repetitive patterns/ trends in stories, executional faults, intented and unintended, which almost everyone who is consumer of good content from all across the world can see and point out, let alone critics. Instead of being defensive and saying why someone is reviewing and criticising their work, they should be accepting of flaws and focus on improvements that they can bring because all of us want to see our drama industry prosper. Criticism is not to bring it down but to make it better. Also, actors/actresses are hardly criticised, most of them are doing their job finely. Once in a blue moon when they are criticised, they become all defensive except few of them ofcourse.
P.S. Most actors don't even watch what they make. They want to consume netflix's content and then create such crappy dramas and don't even want to listen anything bad about them. Bhae hmein b moqa dein acha content dekhne ka jo hmare mulk ka ho jise dekh k fakhar ho Na k sharmindagi!

Also I dont want to take it from her but since im not a pakistani, at first we only knew of those actors who had a crazy following or whose drama had reached organically to us. Maya Ali may have great work but I tbh got to know about her from SH. And not only her many other actors as well. Because we dont have these channels, we tune into our choice of platforms ( in my case SH) and then while knowing about our favourite actor or the drama im watching we get to know about more dramas and more actors from Hassan and Amna only. As a person living abroad, I appreciate honest reviews as I want to keep in touch with my culture with meaningful/good content.
    - Sensitivity does not belong to the realm of artists, it transcends gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic positions. [This isn't the first time Maya has mentioned this and it is getting a bit tiring to hear it again and again]. To say that one must walk in someone's shoes before expressing an opinion is premature. Do we all walk in the shoes of personnel from finance, medicine, politics etc. It would behoove the artists to not lament how hard an actor's life is as there are hosts of other professions that work in equally constraining environments.

TBH - MA fell in my eyes by using "Stand in the sun for 90 days then review". This makes NO SENSE. Everyone has a job doesn't mean they need to do another person's job to do THEIR job. She sounded vain with that statement. Please MA I hope you read these comments from "aam awaam" like us to learn we do want these reviews. I personally CANNOT stand to watch most of the dramas but yet I will give SH HOURS of my time every week because I respect their thoughts and opinions on dramas. Clearly the drama makers themselves haven't gained this trust that I give them 30 hours of my time and THEN review the content.Ain't nobody got time so I personally USE SH to decide what dramas deserve my valuable time. If drama makers can't produce healthy content/make an impression in 2-3 initial episodes, they do not deserve our time for 25/30/40/50 more episodes. Everyone needs an "elevator pitch". In my professional career, I am interviewing currently for an open position on my team and in a 30 min interview I can usually tell in the first 5-10 mins if they are someone that can work on my team. The first two to three episodes are the "elevator pitch" in dramas. If you can't convince us in the first two - three episodes, you lost us. That is the reality. You can't ask the audience, reviewers like SH to give you all our very expensive time to watch the whole series. That is not fair to us.

Hassan - Next time please don't criticize Maya's plays content but criticize her acting too because she is a very average actress. I just don't get why she gets big projects. Her voice tone is same no matter whatever the project is and what her role is. You guys are working in Urdu Dramas and don't know how to read urdu. Seriously? It is not something to be proud of.
When reviewers give comments on dramas, they separate out acting and content. I have seen you guys (you and Aaminah) mentioning thousand times that actors did well but drama has nothing new to offer. I don't know what has triggered her. And actors too show some responsibility like Usman Mukhtar had to slap Mahira in HKKST but he denied that and replaced it by hitting on wall.
Maya should learn from Mahira how to take criticism. That poor woman is always criticized sometimes for the content and sometimes for the acting. But she is never rude to the interviewers at least.
Hassan - One tip for you, even if Maya was criticizing some other youtuber please defend that too because nobody grows individually, it's always about the industry you are part of :)

I’m glad our dramas are being reviewed now because these people got away with creating so much awful stuff. I think critics will push for better quality in all aspects & it’s only healthy competition & good for the industry overall. Also these celebs don’t even watch their own dramas, always praising and mentioning how they watch Netflix, prime, Disney type content.
