I liked the way Donovan incorporated jazz into his arrangements. In an interview I saw recently, he said he considered himself more of a beatnik than the hippie tag he was given. I can hear that in his music sometimes.
Timeless, in London on my Birthday right now. I always recall this when passing through Goodge Street on the Northern line to Highgate. I was tempted to sing it out loud yesterday. Hampstead Incident is another . Heading there today if the rain goes away. Away, away.
I still pinch myself as I went back to ol England for trip but stayed 3 yrs...Walked into a health shop in London & got a job..pinched myself as it was on Goodge St & Donavan my fave artist! 🤯 🤩
Simply charming, the one Paul (Macca) loved ❤
Still lovely after all these years.. I was sure I would marry you in about 1969..never did but still love you. Thanks
lovely
The more I listen the better it sounds
Enchanting & Cool, As Timelessly Magical Now As It Was When First Recorded. 3-D Jazz With A Transcendental Folkie Twist. Just Beautiful...
Hell yeah this song is great. I completely agree with macca
As a young American GI stationed near London in the early 70s, I used to catch a train on the London Underground at Goodge Street from time to time, never knowing Donovan had written a song about it.
All the lyrics online say "crazy Kali goddess" but I think it sounds like "crazy coloured goddess."
