Loved the reaction, and the in-depth musical analysis at the end!
Ren and a couple of other solo buskers in Brighton (Gorran Kendall on bass, Romain Axisa on the black guitar, Glenn Chambers on drums) formed The Big Push in 2017. It's not "Ren's band" in the sense of the rest being backing instrumentalists for Ren's work; they're all equally talented musicians who each write music, sing lead, and play multiple instruments.
The Big Push perform many covers on the street to please the crowds (and many of these are collected in the album "Busking Sessions") but they have also released an EP of original work (called "Can Do Will Do") and have probably another album's worth of originals that we've seen in live videos, but have not yet been formally released. The group disbanded in 2022 so Ren could go to Canada for his long-term medical treatment.

So glad you pointed this out. Way too many folk reefer to The Big Push as "Ren's band" and as you so rightly point out they are all equally talented and both Gorran and Romain can easily hold their own as individual performers. It's time more people realised this and stopped calling them Ren's band.

I’ve watched SO MANY reactions to this performance and have been waiting for someone to mention the fact it was originally “now you do what they told ya”. Not sure if they changed it on purpose, but glad you pointed it out.

A super-group of street singers. The energy and presence of the early Rolling Stones and harmonies of Crosby, Stills and Nash. My opinion is they were shut down by the pandemic, street performance and touring were not possible. And Ren had treatment opportunities open for his ongoing health problems.

Make sure to give Gorran and Romain's solo projects attention. They're both writing, recording, busking, maturing as musicians.

Ren dropped 2 new tracks recently. Back on 74/Message in a Bottle Retake. This is a great musical performance and vocals . The bit in the middle is Ren's original. The other one is an acoustic mashup rendition of artist Fred Again (EDM producer/DJ). I'd love to see your reaction.

Charismatic Voice did an interview with Ren that you might enjoy. They talked about his vocals of course.

Great reaction. I like Paint it black and I shot the sheriff from the same set , it’s worth a listen if you haven’t already.

They were having so much fun. Rage angainst the machine. Yeah it was a mashup I'd say. They broke up at the height of their popularity. Ren said they had all been backing off just a bit because of individual interests. Ren himself had been planning for 2 years this trip to Canada for medical treatments which had already been delayed by the pandemic. He has been in treatment for 15 months alteady with a couple more to go. We all hope for at least a reunion show or two in the future. They are still all good friends. Three front men all have personal channels, Romain Axisa, and Gorran Kendall .Drummer Glenn Chambers got married i think and moved into IT work .

Ren's kinda known for his little alterations to lyrics. May or may not always be intentional, but it usually works out just fine. 😊

The Big Push is fantastic 😅😅. I’m hoping they will get back together.

the "timing errors" you referenced are intentional. It's a thing. A well-known music strategy. Def not an error. I forget what it's called but pretty sure there's a name for it.

I'm very confident I used language like "sounds like" and not actually said anything that sounded like I was calling it an error or that they messed up so I'm assuming you ignored that but I dont feel like watching to check so I'll just say sure 👍
