I suspect people will dismiss being a two time world kickboxing champion as nothing special to simply being in the ufc and being in the top ten. It’s completely understandable to see Alex as one of the best fighters in the world right now.
They (MMA fans) always have. They really think it's nothing, like any ufc fighter can accomplish the same. Adesanya, revered as "one of the greatest strikers in mma history" went 2-2 there.
When it comes to striking, Alex is a different league entirely. Don't bring up Thompson or any other guy. Not even close.
@PoatanCombatSportGOAT I never understood why Thompson was ever talked about as being one of the best strikers. He's decent that's it. People see the hook kicks and love it for some reason.
