I know it kinda was, but think about it... These guys were all former champions (2 of them world champions even), all of them are at least pretty decent and they did hold titles during their run together.
With the correct booking, the LoN could have dominated the landscape for a few months at least, I would risk it ands say do the whole Road To Wrestlemania with them dominating the fields. That wasn't really seen before, and it could propel them all to bigger heights.
But ye... they were more concerned about shoving some good ol' Reigns down our throats, right? XD

After Fastlane the Anonymous GM promises to reveal themselves if Cesaro wins at Mania. He wins. Next night on Raw, Paul Heyman and Lesnar come out and demand the GM own up to their end of the bargain. Adam appears on the Titan tron with that smile he does. When Heyman asks why he thinks he has the right to change everything, Adam says "because Raw has been absolute bollocks lately," leans into the camera "and I can do it better."

A fun thing for the final match, and thus the end of the society, could be to have Luke Gallows do the whole Festus thing when the bell rings for their match signifying that he's shaken off CM Punk's teachings. Despite being perfectly normal before and after the match, he just goes absolutely batshit mental on Punk during the match to just hammer all of that in.

The best way to book the SES was not booking it at all and just turned Punk into a stand alone heel like they did later in his career.
Instead of having Mysterio remove his mask, you could have the stipulation of Punk saying, "If you won't remove your mask to show your commitment to the SES, then I want you to shave the head of your son." and then continue to what you said. If Rey keeps his mask, it still shows he isn't 100% a member, and his fans have that "Maybe he won't join" hope.
Other then mysterio opening his mask it is a great booking but you should not had mysterio open his mask he was not happy with wcw because of that reason

Yeah, while it would certainly enliven the angle, it's hard to imagine them overhauling his entire character like that, knowing that he wouldn't be able to go back to it, just for the sake of playing a supporting role in someone else's angle.

The only changes I'd make is have Gallows and Mercury as the Tag Team Champs, while Serena is the Divas Champ, Rey is the IC Champ, and Punk as the WHC... Also I wouldn't have Rey eventually leave the Straight Edge Society, it'd be interesting to see him have a heel run so I say keep up Rey's loyalty to Punk and eventually help him win the 2011 Royal Rumble and choose to go to Raw to challenge (let's say the WWE Champ is a top face at the time like Cena, or Orton, or maybe Morrison finally wins the main title cuz he was actually gettin over that time) then Punk finally main events WrestleMania and wins the WWE Title causing young fans to give him the best heel heat at the ending of WrestleMania 27 then eventually draft day happens at April then Rey and Punk have to say goodbye cuz they'll be in different shows but Rey dominates as a treacherous and egotistical mid or main card heel in SmackDown (maybe reform the LWO with young wrestlers from AAA Lucha Libre tryin to make a name for themselves) while Punk dominates as the WWE Champion in Raw and people desperately wanna see him lose the belt... The only bad thing about my idea tho is the fact that Punk will be main eventing that year's WrestleMania, which is 2011, will mean no pipe bomb cuz Punk gets what he wants.

Very good fantasy booking, Adam. However, why should CM Punk worry about gold being a cult leader? Rather than championships, he would have wanted commitment to his cause and ego.
without the desire to become champion, a wrestler's character becomes empty. if punk only wants to be a cult leader, and doesn't want the title, he has no motivation to put himself through physical pain and kayfabe falls apart. if he forms a cult as a means to an end (becoming champion) then the character is interesting

Yeah, maybe. Every wrestler's goal must be to wear gold. However, I think that Punk's character could have been like Bray's. Gold wouldn't have mattered that much.
I see what you're saying. Bray's character has the motivation of pleasing Sister Abigail. There's that nagging question in kayfabe of whether or not Sister Abigail is real, and if she is, is she alive? Bray has the whole "I'm crazy as hell" thing going, which excuses motivation for gold. However, I think having Bray start obsessing on gold would be a refreshing change. I think he could sell that story very well. Very well. I have this gut feeling that Bray vs. A.J. for the title would be one of the best storylines/matches of all time.
Punk always came across as "calculating" to me. He drove others to madness, but he was always in total control of himself (and his followers). His promos steered people towards thinking he didn't ONLY care about the gold, but when push came to shove, that was it the whole time. Kind of like when HHH was the only leader of DX. At first it was like "oh, they're just having fun and getting under everybody's skin", but he turned on all of them for gold.
