Tamasese Siva by Nesian Pearl 2017

Our Nesian Pearl Dancers were honoured to present this dance at the Victoria Samoan Advisory Council (Vicsac) Independence Day Ball to commemorate the great Tupua Tamasese Lealofi lll and the great leaders of the Mau movement who fought and gave their lives for our Independence. The fabric on the the dancers left hands represents the Mau uniform the blue 'ie lavalava' (Samoan garment worn from the waist down) with the white strip, as a symbol of love and hope for the preservation of our culture, our values, our heritage and our Samoa.

What a Beautiful Maulu'ulu. Such an Amazing Choreography. (Besides that distracting flashing light at the back. lol)
This Siva and Song makes me Proud not only to be a Samoan but also Polynesian. Keep up the good work.

Poseta Samuelu - the fabric the girls have on there left arm represents the uniform the of the Mau movement which were blue ie lavalava with a white strip. This Dance is the Mau dance representing those that were part of the May Movement.
