Midnight is my second favorite bed by Helix, right after the Sunset, preferably the Lux. As a side sleeper, i like a softer bed to sink into for great pressure relief. I always thought the Helix beds were great and so customizable and so many beds to choose from
In theory, I think I would like the hybrid technology of individually wrapped coils with a cushioning foam on top, but i really don't like the sensation of memory foam--feels like I'm sinking. I prefer the more responsive nature of latex, particularly talalay.
Would prefer a thicker memory foam top comfort layer (vs the balanced foam combination) in top of the coil foundation. Went to their site and saw some possibilities that may work for us including the Helix plus for my husband. Took the quiz! Thanks Martin 😊
Hi Marten. I think the Helix Midnight is too firm for me but they do offer other softer mattresses that I'm sure I'd like. It's great that you can do their sleep quiz to get a customized mattress. Thx for the review!
Interesting review. The Helix appears to provide support from the independent coils, but I'd be concerned about the pressure around my shoulders and hips. I'm a larger build and arthritic. I also have concerns about the amount of memory and heat retention during sleep. The appearance looks nice and it also looks to be durable. Thanks for the information
with only 4 layers to this mattress it concerns me a little but since i am mostly side and stomach sleeper I think I need to check out some other mattresses, I do like the motion transfer is good.
When I took the helix sleep quiz the midnight was the recommended mattress for me( and hubby)! I'm not sure it is the one for us because I really don't like "any" slow moving foam and since I'm primarily a stomach sleeper, I prefer more support
Seems like a very nice mattress. However, its a bit firm for me. Plus im not sure coils would be best option for me but overall seems like a very nice mattress for most people.
Helix was one of my original mattress options when I started looking. Unfortunately they have had inconsistent build quality and customer service the past few months.
The big question is, how does it hold up after several years? I have a Stearns and Foster Lux Estate that hasn’t held up very well. Wasn’t exactly a cheap mattress. Anyone can do a 3 month review. What about after a year or two?
Recently purchased this mattress and this is my experience: cannot sit on the edge as it is not supportive enough and feels I'm gonna fall down. The top layer (memory foam) is either shorter than the following one or wasn't perfectly placed, so it looks uneven. The corner edges are drooping...
This seems old school/old news. Pressure relief doesnt look good. I cant believe how different this mattress looks and really is, compared to the helix luxe. I'd REALLY like ya to do test on the helix midnight LUXE! please
The smell lasts 3-4 weeks, not enough support in the middle, it sinks in weird even though I’m only 160 lb. It’s causing lower back and side pains. How much does the bed frame matter? The bed frame I have has plenty of wood slats
I like the base layer of individual pocketed coils for support. With a bad back I am somehwat concerned with the upper layers and whether or not the memory feel on top will be too soft.
I love Helix's sleep quiz. They have many options so you can pick the best one for you. I really like the way they are built, and they look. Great Review!
I want to know out of everyone that works at mattress clarity what mattress do you currently sleep on do you have a partner what are your dimensions and why did you choose your mattress? Please make a video from this.
THE HELIX is one of MY favorite brands. I believe the Midnight would be a good fit for me. BUT I THINK THE SUNSET PLUSH would be a PERFECT FIT FOR ME AS A SIDE SLEEPER.
Although I really like Helix for their hybrid design and their sleep quiz that helps people find the mattress that works best for their sleep needs, this Midnight model is too firm for me.
3 inches of foam over steel coils not enough for any one over 180 lbs . I'm 198 . A hybrid is just innerspring with thin layers of foam . I bought a nest alexander sig based on these reviews and it is a total horror show . Can't wait to get rid of it . But they don't make it easy and it disrupts everything in ones life not to mention the lost sleep and subsequent bad moods . I'm going crazy trying to find a mattress .
Looks like it might be too firm for me, with the lack of pressure relief on the shoulders at my size. Looks to be breathable though, so at least it would be cool.
I have a 6 year old Helix mattress that has developed black mold. I used a waterproof mattress cover and live in a very dry environment. I expect more out of a company like Helix. They refused to remedy the situation. Do not buy!
this mattress is an inferno after 20 minutes of rest on it. the coils do a bad job of dissipating heat, and the foam layer traps heat at the source where the body touches(even with geltex cooling cover). That, along with relatively high sinkage depth lend this as one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I personally have ever used. edge support is great and one of this mattress' strong points. it is also much too firm for those at or around 150 pounds and ~5.6 feet. It is both uncomfortable for back sleepers as my rear end descends into the inferno, and bad for side sleepers as my arm falls asleep in the ded of night. offgassing still continues to this day with an impressive 45 days after delivery. overall, I rate this mattress a skip and look somewhere else.
This does not seem to be the mattress for me as I am a side sleep and heavier then you so I would feel more firm so not good. I want less pressure on my shoulder and hip so will look else where which is fine since Helix seems to be on the expensive side.
My brother, thank you for the review. It has been helpful. Now, if I could help you- please wear clean white socks or something else on your feet. You seem to have picked up some dirt on the bottom of your socks in the video.

Cooling mattress for combo sleeping is my choice, and I like the quiz and luxe options on the Helix site. I think I prefer a hybrid.

I think this mattress might be a tad too firm for me but it seems like a very nice mattress! I love the sleep quiz Helix offers.
This mattress sounds amazing! We are overdue for a new mattress so this one would be perfect!

You're welcome!
i like the Helix and the ability to customize it to your individuals needs
Thanks Martin! I need a softer mattress as I am a side sleeper, but I’m sure that Helix also has a mattress that fits my needs!

Sounds like great mattress for my husband's back had fusion couple yrs ago always in pain.

What did you end up getting?
Hi guys! Ikept feeling like you might crush the Helix at some point😅 Good video. I'm in narrowing down what I want!

The sunset plush would prob be the best for me as a side sleeper. Although lately I've been finding myself more combo.
I freaking love this
I have a bad back but I sleep on my back. This seems to be a pretty good fit for me. Not to soft, not to firm!
I could use a new matress and this looks perfect
I like the base layer of individual pocketed coils for support. With a bad back I am somehwat concerned with the upper layers and whether or not the memory feel on top will be too soft.
I prefer an all foam mattress
I love Helix's sleep quiz. They have many options so you can pick the best one for you. I really like the way they are built, and they look. Great Review!
But did you buy one?
@@chrisb9960 No, I went with Brooklyn Beddings Aurora for the cooling.
@@flynnaz so no actual feedback. Okay

This sounds interesting, not sure if it's right for me, though.
Glad to know Bill Williamson found a career as a bed critic

Martin here from the comments section. Helix has so many choices.... it’s kind of scary!
Looks like it might be too firm for me, with the lack of pressure relief on the shoulders at my size. Looks to be breathable though, so at least it would be cool.
how would this mattress be for a 70lbs person like me? i’m very lightweight
Very nice, I need #queen mattress!
Is the midnight similar to the cocoon hybrid
Where can i use the cupon
What's the voc rating on this mattress?
I have a 6 year old Helix mattress that has developed black mold. I used a waterproof mattress cover and live in a very dry environment. I expect more out of a company like Helix. They refused to remedy the situation. Do not buy!
But it has a ten-year warranty! I’d report this to the BBB and/or the Consumer Products Safety Commission. Mold is unhealthy.
Which is your favorite mattress?

I am a side sleeper so I don't think this mattress would work the best for me.

I love firm mattresses!
It's nice
Thank you for the review. I to am a big guy. I love that I can lay on my back but I am disappointed that itvisnt recommended for side sleeping.
Nice 👍🏻
