My husband surprised me with this one today and he got it for a steel at Walmart regular price was 385.00 today's sale price 199.94 and I love all the features, sewing, quilting and embroidery all in one machine WOW... I really like this sewing machine for two days. I used it to make a fleece cape which turned out very nicely. I used it to sew up and repair a pillowcase. That’s the last time it worked. I bought it last Sunday. This is Saturday and I can’t for the life of me get it to so a good stitch it pulls out From the Bob and side as if it were on a gathering machine. I have threaded it non-threaded it so many times that I don’t even care anymore and I’m ready to take it back to the store.
I have been hearing great things about this machine. Doing research on it and seriously thinking of getting this one. I have had Brother Machines for 40 years. Time for a new updated one.

I have had the SQ9185 for several years. My first sewing machine. I don't think the SQ9285 is very different.
I still have my SQ9185 but got the Brother ST150HDH recently. The one thing I miss the most is the extension table that came with the sq9185. Brother's website says I have to buy the extension table from my local dealer, unfortunately. Every time I see videos of the newer version sq9285, it reminds me why I kept my sq9185.

What about straight stitching..? Needle always starts on left and its annoying. You showed nothing
