Also I have one of those tiny ancient clamp on vices, I really must get around to cleaning it up and installing it.

Jimmy is one of the few CZcamsrs, that doesn't seem like a "CZcamsr" (I mean that in a good way). Most CZcamsrs' videos are pretty much 1&Done in terms of re-watchability, while I could (and have) watch Jimmy's videos multiple times over. In fact, I just went through and re-watched his entire collection for probably the 10th time.
It also helps that his vids totally trigger ASMR.:)
It is amazing how much Jimmy's channel has grown! I updated his IMDB back in June with the fact that at the time he had 600k subscribers. 4 months and 200k subscribers more is very impressive! Love the videos, Jimmy! Keep it up, big guy!

Congrats on the 800K subs! You've been a huge inspiration to many of us and are the main reason I started my youtube channel.
Nice collection! Also, kinda on topic for those who might not know... when mounting a bench vise, always try to 'spot' it so the fixed (non moveable) jaw hangs slightly out over the bench edge (1/16" is plenty). Doing so greatly increases versatility by allowing longer material to be held vertically should need arise. Most vises are so designed to allow this. Bonus points if a swivel vise is mounted on the bench corner, and you can get the fixed jaw to hang out over both edges. It's amazing how many vises you see set back a few inches mounted by people that should know better. (As a side note, I have a couple of ceiling mounted 150W flood lights trained on my main vise & vicinity; very nice for small detail stuff)
Also, to make sure the vise is place directly over the leg (as much as possible) so that it is more solid.
Yes, and beef up the vise mounting area if necessary... I like bolting the bench to a wall or whatever for added stability.

While I'm thinking about it, have a friend who added an additional leg under his bench vise... kinda schlocky blacksmith vise like. Did it with a 4x4... it's amazingly rigid!

just found the same tall blacksmith vice along with some ole 4 ft pipe wrenches 2 months ago in an old barn about to be torn down. amazing finds, hard to believe places like that get demolished without having a proper go around before
