@@bjs3171 The chord choice and voicings are pretty jazzy, especially in the bridge after 2:40. Also the whole thing has a very Latin groove to it, which is another jazz influence.
@@bjs3171 Maybe 'jazzy' is debatable, but it's clear the arrangement was written and played by jazz musicians, especially in the bridge section.

This is POP like never before. It's hard to describe this... It's a mix of so many influences, and it's been put together with perfection. There's way too much talent in that one room... But what's more endearing to see is the sheer chemistry of everyone with each other. Whoever arranged this has done a fantastic job. It's top notch. I really hope that Cody and Cory keep this band together and make it an official project - would love to see more stuff from them.

@@jerbear97 IIRC, he had a blood clot in his teens. He was told he could suddenly die from it. He didnt, but that scare gave him a drive for life and to just be happy. Hense what you see on stage :)

Horn line hits. Tasty bass lines. Funky rhythm guitar. Electric guitar solo. Piano solo. Tight pop vocals with sexy harmonies. A whole band soli thing. Even got stache in there. This song has got it all and it's blended beautifully.
I'm pretty certain that Cody is so damn good that the general population just isn't quite ready for him yet.
It's the only possible reason I can think of as to why he isn't so fuckin famous right now.
I know right, his music kinda felt weird for me at first but as I heard more of his music, I finally learned to truly appreciate it. Now it just slaps so frickin hard.
This is a really catchy tune but the fusion breakdown loses the average person. It's great for musicians but too busy for the "regular" ear.
so crazy to think about the range at which people hear and comprehend music. So different from person to person. I played in college ensembles with a few of these guys. all proficient at numerous instruments and a lot of them are individual artists, composers, and studio musicians as well. The level at which all of these people are on is above baseline pop music comprehension. If you do understand it. Compositions like this really hit deep. This one is amazingly written. Congrats Cody. Been listening to dynamo for a long time, but this is a first for you.

Only just discovered this thanks to Cory Wong's new show and, wow, this is amazing. It's to the original what the Stop Making Sense version of Crosseyed & Painless is to the album version. A fantastic song that just becomes otherworldly. Can't get that chorus out of my head.
