Cheltenham Races Buses, Wednesday 13th March 2013
The second day of the Ladbrokes Cheltenham Festival, so I decided to walk down to the train station and see some Stagecoach driver friends and get some photos and footage of all the vehicles that are being utilised this year.
Plenty of Stagecoach groups from across the UK have been drafted in to help. Don't think I've ever seen so many drivers around!
I will apologise for the idiot shouting "I will buy and sell tickets"..always one ticket tout around so I moved to the bottom of the road for better positioning!
I have to admit it was nice to see some of the old R*** EVX fleet back together, just like the old days!
Filmed outside the station as they come and go, including the local Stagecoach fleet on Route D ,B and local operators Marchants, Eagle Line and some National Express services. You even see some of them going on breaks at the depot. Think this time of year is their busiest!
The race buses have been utilised by Stagecoach operators from Hampshire, London , East London , Portsmouth, The South Downs, Devon, Lincolnshire Roadcar, Cotswolds, Gloucester, Portsmouth, Chesterfield, Manchester and South West Buses. Plenty of Dennis Trident's , Enviro 400's, both Alexander Dennis and Scania models, Volvo Olympians, and even a classic Leyland Olympian courtesy of Hampshire Bus.
From what I was told , the fleets were being stored overnight at Scania Keltruck at Arle Court, some in North Place Car Park, Gloucester depot, Cotswold depot in Stroud and at the station itself.
