this helped me so much because i am writing a test tommorow so n needed help with how to draw this
That's not actually an ellipse. It's an approximation of an ellipse.
Yes, this is an approximate ellipse, and this is a well known method to draw an approximate ellipse (4 center method)
Thank you i needed it tomorrow I'm writing a test
Thank you so much i needed this tomorrow I'm writing a test
You welcome I am glad this helps 💖
thank you! very concise and clean, easy to watch, and brief, needed this for math graphs!
You welcome
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽🤗🙏🏽
you welcome 💖
Thank u this was so easy to understand
thank you, you saved my life because i am doing this tmr. Thank you, much love
you welcome any time, glad this helps :)
What software or program are you currently using. Would love to use this in my online classes.
Im a visual learner and this is so easy to understand
Thank you, I am glad you like it 💖💖
Your video is so good.
Thank you
I'd rather draw an exact ellipse! Just takes two pins and a loop of cotton around them to constrain your pencil ... easy as! 😂
Yes, the "Pin and String Method" is used to draw an exact ellipse, while this method is approximate, yet in school you may be asked to draw an ellipse using the "Four Center Method"
Note: there is another "Four Center Method" to draw an ellipse, but it is less accurate czcams.com/video/UX3OWgqN36o/video.html
I prefer this one since I am trying to implement it in my drawings, and the two pin method will just ruin my sketch book, since it has to go through several pages
This is very informative. Could you be kind and share about the animation software you are using, especially the pair of compass you are using. Great work!!!
Thank you 💖
well it is not a specific software for similar animated 2D drawings, instead I Use 3D Animation software basically, and a lot of softwares are included in the process, (like 3Ds Max, Blender, Maya) and in some cases I use AutoCAD for accurate drawings, all of the models and drawings are custom build from scratch.
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽🤗🙏🏾
1:43 I would like to ask how long should those lines be stretched? Is it until it reaches its respective end point? Meaning A B C D?
Well, if the line is longer this will not cause any problem, if it is short you will not be able to draw the arcs of the ellipse, to make sure the line is long enough make sure it is on the same level ( or more extended ) of point C 1:43
💯👌
Thank you 💖
So confusing ahhhh
Which part is confusing to you?
Why c d?
Measure
Everything is so confusing 😭
This is my 6th try and I still can't get it
Just keep rewinding 😂, that's what I did. I finally got it.
What you have drawn is an ellipse approximation. That should be stated.
Yes, OK :)
I wouldn't assume everyone drawing ellipses is doing so for precision, perhaps it would be a good exercise in geometry to calculate the error?
I can use spread legs of a compass with string to draw an ellipse which is also approximate...
If you want precision, don't draw the ellipse at all, just mark the precise points constructed.
Complaining about inaccuracy in drawing a non-constructible shape with an incalculable area is not a great idea, whichever plane you slice it with, doesn't make logical sense to state what you did.
Ok line CD is not the same length as line AB so how did you come up with the length of line CD in relation to line AB? Without this information you can’t draw line AC. Is line CD drawn from the intersection point that was made to find the perpendicular line?
It depends on the dimensions of the ellipse that you want to draw, say you want to draw an ellipse with a Major Axis AB= 15 cm and a Minor Axis CD= 7 cm. so those dimensions are variable depending on your requirements
Confusing video.
This is not a perfect ellipse. It's an approximation.
yes, this is an approximate ellipse
Indead i tryed it two times, but it's not good.
@@CarolinevanderLinden Hi, please make sure to follow the exact instructions in the video, this is a well known method to draw an approximate ellipse, which is about 98 % or 99 % accurate, the accuracy changes according to the ellipse ratio.
Hi 9-A
1:03 how do u find the C & D point?
You don;t find them, They are "Give" They represent the Length on the Minor Axis of the Ellipse Ex:Draw an Ellipse with Major Axis 15 cm (A,B) and Minor Axis 7 cm (C,D) in this case the distance between C and D = 7 cm
Please tell me is it possible to draw ellipse of different width ?
This method can be used to draw any ellipse ( Approximate Ellipse ) given its Major Axis and Minor Axis Ex:Major Axis = 20 cm Minor Axis = 5 cm
not sure what do you mean by Different Width :)
@@MaquetteArt by width I meant increasing or decreasing the shorter diameter of the ellipse keeping the longer diameter the same. The shorter or longer the short diameter, the ellipse will shrink or expand respectively. Can we do that ?
@@LeviAckerman-gc7ph yes, it will work fine
@@MaquetteArt ok I understood, so we have to increase or decrease the first drawn angle to do that
@@LeviAckerman-gc7ph 1:04 yes, the Length on AB and CD is what Determine the ellipse ratio
