Hi Zdenka. Thanks again for the great tutorial. When you first introduced me to the Hoverair this past summer, I was quite intrigued. I ended up ordering my own and just picked it up yesterday in Michigan while visiting my dad in Sarnia. I am anxious to get it out flying and taking videos where I don't need the help of my daughter manning a camera. I suspect it will be a great tool as I create my content, especially my Santa persona this Christmas. Cheers.

I like using my Hover Air for parts of vlog videos... mostly for variety. Its so easy to use! Also used it for an ebike review recently. Again, so easy to use for basic follow me and dolly pan shots.
As always, very well done and informative. This drone has its place. For now, I’m following your guidance on faux drone shots with my monopod and/or gimbal.

Finally got mine, and thanks to getting the 3 battery version, I couldn’t put it down until I finished them all! WOW, I mean right out of the box (after charging) I went one mode after another to get them all in. Because of your great definition of them, it was an awesome first flight experience! Even looked like a pro to my neighbor because it just arrived the day before! Thanks so very much! Great post!

You are very welcome. I am exactly on the same boat. To be honest I have DJI drone here, but I never flew it since I got this one. I simply don’t need it. I just need only a few shots here and there nothing fancy. So this might work for you if you are very similar to what I do.

Hi Zdenka, great review of the HoverAir X1. I have the X1f and love it because you can pull it out of you pocket and get those quick shots, kind of like the Go 2 or Go 3. As far as drones, my now go to drone is the Mini 4 Pro. Although I have most of the other DJI drones and not to mention the Skydio. Just wish I could get out a little more often but due to my wife's Cancer condition it pretty much stay home for now.... Thanks Dave....

It has to see the ground otherwise it is going to crash or return. Snow and water is a big no no… it doesn’t use gps. I tried water and it immediately returned to me

Thank you Zdenka, very informative as usual. I have a question. I would like to use this drone for filming a product I've developed for interior finishing in houses. My product is a sandpaper for vacuum sanding drywall and I would like to have the drone focus on the tool rather than me. If that is possible I wonder if I can also create a shot where the drone backs away form the work, out a sliding glass door and rises to get an elevated view of the house. Or is that getting too complicated?
Yes… for these types of shots I would get normal drone as this doesn’t do well with uneven surfaces… it would have to be flown manually… it can only track people

Hello Zdenka. I’ve been following your videos and each one is great. Thank you for your clear explanations. I have 1 question I’m hoping you can answer 🤞. What type of plug is everyone using to achieve a 35 min charge. I’ve tried a normal usb plug to fit the cable provided - each battery took nearly 3 hours. I tried a usb plug 15w - each battery took almost 2 hours. I’ve tried a USB C to USB C 20w and each battery took 1 hour. I’m so delighted with the camera but disappointed that the suitable plug was not also in the box. Any links to what everyone has had success with would really be appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Nice prototype...can't wait for V2 to arrive...2.7K 30fps is ok...oversharpened...too bad. However it's a bit expensive. I only have a mavic mini and it's ok for quick shots to set up a location shot (weddings etc), but I find that I can't fly it in most areas in Toronto...this is a selfie drone I understand so getting shots of other people is a bit complicated without a controller.I'm sure the technology will evolve for V2.
So......just got my hoverair x1 and took some shots. Discovered your video. Realizing the hover has to be connected for me to go into settings....correct?
8yrs?… might be too early… when I was testing it with 14 years old, she got extra scared here and there as it was getting a bit too close to her…. It has a cage, so nohing should really happen.. but still.. it is a bit loud so it can be scary

I used dolly track for the first time and the drone flew away from me and I had to go looking for it 😭 i'm scared to test it again. Were my parameter settings wrong? I'm not sure why it happened. I thought i'd lost it.

You have to always connect to the app to change the settings. Only custom mode will stay the same.

Great video Zdenka. What was the maximum distance , when you lost Wifi contact, how high did it get? And how did you get contact again?
It’s gonna go only up to 12m I think…. I just have to bring my arms higher so it reconnect with the Wi-Fi.

It just stops and hover in the air until you come closer and it reconnects with your phone. I tested it and will never push it that high again

You are very welcome. You could get some shit here and there, but it doesn’t fly too long. Keep that in mind. One battery lasts 10 minutes.

Are you able to make it spin in Birds Eye as it rises? Or did you do that in post production?
None of the shirts you saw were done in post. Those are all done with this drone, so yes, you can certainly do the spin.

I tried a usb plug 15w - each battery took almost 2 hours. I’ve tried a USB C to USB C 20w and each battery took 1 hour. I’m so delighted with the camera but disappointed that the suitable plug was not also in the box.

There should be two videos saved one is zooming in, and the other one is zooming out

Nice prototype...can't wait for V2 to arrive...2.7K 30fps is ok...oversharpened...too bad. However it's a bit expensive. I only have a mavic mini and it's ok for quick shots to set up a location shot (weddings etc), but I find that I can't fly it in most areas in Toronto...this is a selfie drone I understand so getting shots of other people is a bit complicated without a controller.I'm sure the technology will evolve for V2.

Can i do snapshot while using video mode
Unfortunately, no… but you could take out the frame as a snapshot in the video editing software
I ordered mine and plan to take it to the Maldives. But as you mentioned, there is a lot of water. Did you try it over water? What happens?
You cannot fly it over the water… it doesn’t have gps, it is different system and might drop over water

8yrs?… might be too early… when I was testing it with 14 years old, she got extra scared here and there as it was getting a bit too close to her…. It has a cage, so nohing should really happen.. but still.. it is a bit loud so it can be scary

Zoom in and out both happen in the same flight
HoverAir is a great idea for the backpackers travel alone. Light weight, quick and easy to take out and shoot. But the camera quality is a little bit cheap and the price I think is too high. Hoping other brands can release some similar products. Maybe mini 2 or 3 can just upgrade their software to get those functions?

I used dolly track for the first time and the drone flew away from me and I had to go looking for it 😭 i'm scared to test it again. Were my parameter settings wrong? I'm not sure why it happened. I thought i'd lost it.
This is extremely strange because there is a maximum distance. It should not have happened to go far away from you.
