So true! If only there was a VU meter with a DBFS meter as well
VUMT meter does have a little led indicator that tells You that the peak is going above -6 dBFS(it's set to -6 dBFS by default but You can change this on the settings) and the right numeric reading is Your peak. Hope this helps.
Dude thanks so much, I thought my ears were deceiving me. I knew that my drums were leveled & if I hit the 0 on the VU they were way to loud. VU is still a game changer, but you have to trust your ears.
I also faced this same problem while 1st time using VU meter.
finally! i've been looking for answer for this. thank you!
Yeah percussion will do this. And sharp vocal yelps too
That has been very useful video for me. Thanks alot,🙏
Put a gain plugin before other plugins and after and this problem is solved.
I’ve never had that problem before
Routing Yamaha tf1
vu meter don't work on drums i think, cuz the percussive dynamic
It works on everything when you “ know what the hell you’re doing”
@@BR_READDY225 Why are u always telling youtubers and viewers they doing it wrong all the time but u don't show them how it is done? u like you know everything on mixing and mastering but u don't prove it? i see u commenting trash on all videos i watched on youtube😒
ok so back in the Days … how the Mixing Engineers did gain the Kick , Snare or Toms in the Analog World ? without a later come dBFs Meter ? would be interesting to know :)
They just got to know how vu meters respond. Vu meters did get the name 'virtually useless meters' though 🤣
Great question btw
what does DBFS stand for?
Decibels full scale 👍
should we use that metod for only kick drum?
Use those dbfs meters for anything but especially material with fast transients
@@realhomestudioofficial thanks
Or you know...learn to use it properly
Virtually useless meter
