omg.. you gotta try this if you havent already.. super beyond lazy keto peanut butter, cinnamon, and cream "pie". will cure any sweet tooth.. lightly toast a slice of keto bread (i like the Aunt Millie's Live Carb Smart Bread (1 net carb/slice).. then add a thin layer of peanut butter.. up to you on amount keeping carbs in check.. sprinkle with cinnamon all over top... and then top with Reddi-wip Zero Sugar (the spray kind.. purple can)... then enjoy. uber quick, beyond easy, and delicious for a filling keto friendly lazy dessert. :) hope you enjoy! also.. hope you both had a Merry Christmas! :)

The reason I watch you two is because of your realness. I'm 68, a widow and on a walker from a sever car accident 10 years ago. During this time period, I gained 140 lbs. I researched Keto and decided this was a lifestyle I could sustain. Since February of 2021 I have lost 70 lbs. Because of my disability I can't exercise, although I am trying to find a pool I can get in and out of. I want to get another 70 lbs off, and I do it a day at a time. But there is a child no longer hanging off my body. And my body building, running steps, racket ball days are over. That is in the past, so I need something I can do now and not feel defeated. Not matter what is happening in your life, make your mind up and do it. This is why I follow you ladies, and thank you for what you do. You encourage me every time I watch you.

The all or nothing mentality screws up a lot of things. I don't call them "cheat meals" because that is a self-punishing concept that makes me feel terrible. I call them what they are, high carb foods/meals. I eat them very occasionally if it is something I deem "carb worthy". Sometimes I slip and eat crap that is not worthy. Either way, I feel bloated and remember why it's better to eat low carb.

I've lost over 30 lbs total since August combining Keto & PSMF and would like to lose another 10 lbs. My original goal was to have it all off by the beginning of January, but since changed my mind because of the holidays. I haven't "cheated" so far and don't plan to. I'm staying Keto during December, but just upping my macros to maintenance level until January so that I don't go to parties hungry and so that I'm not as tempted to eat non-Keto items this month. It definitely helps to plan ahead. Thank you two for your light-hearted outlook on Keto living 💟

Bravo to you two!!!! You are smart and sensible! I have been on low carb for over 40 years and have endured ridicule from friends, family and strangers for my “weird way of eating.” But I have maintained my 125 pound loss through all those years. We are humans! This is our life, this is our journey, and it should be as pleasant and rewarding as possible. If I have a craving for pizza, or nachos, and I’m out with friends, I will indulge, if I really want to. But I will get right back on the low-carb train, because I know it works! I do not look 70 years old, I am fit, and healthy, and most of all, I am happy. Sometimes it is very hard for me to get back into ketosis, but even just staying on low carb, I will lose the few pounds of water weight that I gained during a “cheat meal” in a day or two. No self shame! I’m not gonna beat myself up because I wanted to eat some really delicious bread dipped in olive oil, and have some flan for dessert, once in a great while! I've been doing keto for the past 3 yrs. I realized this is going to have to be my lifestyle for the rest of my life. I am still interested in weight loss, but now I'm more interested in my health and well being. A lot of people have mistakenly thought that keto is expensive. That answer is it depends on where your food dollar goes. If you're determined to do the whole organic thing...yeah, its going to be expensive. Personally, for me, it can't be expensive, my budget won't allow for that. So, I do the best I can afford. I also intermittent fast so I do a meal and a snack a day. That helps the budget. Fancy shakes, candy or meal bars can't happen on my budget, but I often wonder if those things don't set a craving in motion. Most of the time, I don't have cravings. I appreciated that you're acknowledging that there are the birthday parties, Christmas and so forth. The next meal period. That keeps me Keto.

One lesson I have learned, an important one, is that a diet/lifestyle serves me, I don’t serve it. I won’t even use the word “cheating.” There are several meals a year where I don’t expect to be keto and I am not going to beat myself up over that. I refuse to turn my diet into a religion anymore. Maybe that is why it is working this time.

I absolutely agree! I know I will have to be low-carb for the rest of my life however like you I know it’s not realistic to think I will never want another carb in my life. I have lost 74 pounds so far and have another hundred plus to go. I knew going into Thanksgiving that I was going to partake of stuffing and mashed potatoes. I did indulge for three days I don’t think I overindulged but I did enjoy both of those delicious carbs three days in a row and I did gain 6 pounds. I have since Lost that weight as I got right back on the low-carb train immediately. This is a new concept for me as I had never been able to do that on any previous diet, I had always had the mindset oh well I fallen off the wagon and then I would go hogwild into carb land. This is a lifestyle it’s not about being perfect. Love your channel I’m so glad I found you!

I love the fact that you two are not super serious about this subject. Excess weight can create serious medical problems but that doesn't mean a weight loss and maintenance lifestyle has to be so dry and dull. Life is too short to not have some fun. On cheat meals/days/weeks etc....I agree that not beating yourself up over a slip up (or two) is essential to success. Actually I have found that I feel so lousy when I go off keto it keeps me on track. You gals give good suggestions and good encouragement. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for explaining the water weight gain for cheating. I went to my daughters to celebrate our Christmas with them yesterday and because I'm not used to eating until 1 or 2 p.m., I was hungry and all I had to eat were croissants, cinnamon rolls, donut holes and berries. I ate a croissant (the small Pillsbury ones) one donut hole and the berries. Then when we got home, I made a blt wrap with the low carb tortillas - today, I weighed 3lbs more and my ankles were swollen! Makes so much sense now!

The want of bread made me fail previously, now there’s chaffle, oh yeah. I’m doing so well now. Any time you cheat there’s guilt, you feel like crap physically, just not worth it. At the absolute worst, you can take ANY recipe and make it a wonderful possible, edible version that is keto. I love that you don’t take everything so seriously especially yourselves. You’re my sisters now too, I can’t imagine a day without hearing you in the background, in the kitchen, while I’m developing yet another keto recipe. Don’t change a thing, you’re doing it just right.
