In order to change the V-sync Value manually you must locate the settings.txt (show hidden files enabled) located at (User)\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\Dead Space\settings.txt. once open you can change the V-sync Value from 60 to 120 (or double your Monitors Refresh rate). By doing this you should have a proper 60fps with V-sync. So in settings.txt if the V-sync Value is 60, the game will run at 30, if the value is 120 it will run at 60fps, at 240 it will run at 120fps and so on. **Please Note** you will still have potential physics and wall glitches if you run the game over 60, the game was not designed to run higher**
The game engine cuts the refresh rate in half whenever you enable V-sync so doubling it in the Settings.txt "Tricks" the game into thinking it cuts it in half.
BUGS & STUTTERS BE GONE!! Hope this helps.

Dead Space is without a doubt one of my favorite game IPs of all time, so I'll take any chance I can get to see the series be revived.
One of them, like you mentioned, could be a remaster. Even though graphically the games have aged quite well, I wouldn't mind another excuse to replay them.
The other would be new entry in VR or adaptation of an existing one to VR. I feel like Dead Space is definitely one of those series that would translate better to VR than most (looking at you Far Cry 3). The in-world HUDs and inventory menus, the limb dismemberment mechanic, the suits, the horror. It's good opportunity that EA will probably miss out on, sadly.

Machines turning on; monster coming. Pipes making noises; monster coming. Garbage rolling around; monster coming. Walls making creaking noises; monster coming, etc. Jeez I spent more time doing 360's than anything else. Beautiful game.

The level design never really is so complex that the navigation path is essential, i usually find it more useful in the second game to check if i need to backtrack for stores/etc or new ones are available in the new area. But certainly there are some cases (like in Dead Space 3) where some paths seem a bit too similar (or confusing, some zero gravity areas) and it's faster to check the path.
It kinda sucks that with this feature basically you never check the 3D map but i think it's interesting when games try to use that approach. Some games like Daggerfall have one that is more of a confusioning mess than something useful but it's find to check titles that try to use it. Some weeks ago for example i was replaying RE: Revelations and i found it has a 3D map, curiously a cruise ship is split in a grid of cubes, joined together where floors/rooms/corridors/etc are. Kinda interesting approach ;)

15:00 I just finally played through Dead Space for the first time and I almost immediately forgot about the locator. I played nearly the entire game without directions. Very rarely did I need to use the map but it was atrocious. But what stuck out to me is how I didn't need it. The ship seemed realistic enough and my objectives made clear enough that I could easily find my way around without getting lost at all. Near the end of the game I finally rediscovered the locator and I started using it quite a bit in the last two chapters. Way more than was necessary even though I probably already knew where i was going. So although it's a good feature for people who get lost easily it's also really tempting to abuse. Now that I'm on Dead Space 2 I've been using it to see the main path so I can avoid it and explore side areas first.
Also similarly to the System Shock games and Resident Evil series I can still map out areas in my head well after having finished the game. Especially the early game chapters and the bridge. That's some good shit.

It doesn't take time to 'breathe' because it's meant to be jarringly immediate: the exposition quickly sets the themes up. Yes, it's a ship with thousands of crew members that can't respond to a single radio call...yes, we have an S.O.S we're responding to...the player knows she's about to play a horror experience. The game introduces necromorphs early in order to set up the themes that there are multiple types of them. That they're evolving, and unpredictable- Alien: Isolation needs to 'breathe' because it 's a game based on a 35 year old movie. Dead Space only needed to breathe an hour and a half into the playtime so that the player didn't kill themselves.
