The red ninja's name is King Resistance. The Resistance's goal was to take over the kingdom from the king by any means necessary, not truly caring about the villagers and the treadmill powered by them. When Dan is seemingly turning on the Resistance, King Resistance calls out his rushed robot to finish him. The reason they go for the Head Executive is because he is the last authority figure in the entire kingdom after the king's execution. They used Dan as a more of a tool for their own purposes.
The storyline is pretty dark, it shows how terrifying a revolution can be, minus the big robots and monochromatic masters

Story final boss ( red ninja ) at hard difficulty is realy hard. It takes me nearly 30 attempts to beat it
i did 1 attempt but at first i cant even beat dark master
I did it with 3 attempts

A little tip for the last boss:You cant melee it if its not in that cool down phase and you cant do ranged or melee attacks if its doing that fist attack

You can melee it you just gotta go to the top platform and jump to the robot then punch it
