  • Welcome to another video of my journey through the beautiful Algeria!
Today we explore the city of Bechar the queen of the desert.
Our tour starts In the heart of First of November Square. a place steeped in historical significance. This square tells the poignant tale of Algerian heroism, where brave warriors once stood firm against the formidable forces of French colonial rule.
Dominating the foreground of this square is the iconic Ibn El-Houeyretar Mosque (مسجد مالك بن الحويرث) a symbol of resilience and heritage.
During the French colonization, Algeria's fate was intertwined with France's grasp, leading to the imposing Notre Dame Du Sahara Church. Built in 1930, its neo-Byzantine design features an impressive dome and bell tower.
Inside, a blend of architectural styles and history unfolds, adorned with mosaics and stained glass windows. In 2006, the church transformed into a mosque, a powerful assertion of Algerian identity despite colonial pressures.
In the ancient Casbah, mud walls bear the marks of sporadic rain, revealing the balance between human ingenuity and nature.
Strolling through the Casbah's alleys, the spirit of Bechar comes alive. Local children play soccer against earthen walls, echoing with laughter.
Nearby, three bridges span an ancient dry waterway. Flash floods occasionally reshape the desert landscape.
As the sun bathed the Malik Bin Nabi Mosque in gold, Bechar stood as a testament to unity and resistance in the ever shifting sand of the desert.

Wa alaikum assalam, sorry for the late reply. You can start with the city of Bechar itself. Be sure to check out the Place Mersaoud, and the Medina, the old town. Mosquee Al-Houda, Ksar, Taghith, Beni Abbes. Let me know if you need any more suggestion. Safe travels
