so many crybabies on this post geez !! wonderful work though man . thank you for preserving the beauty of this animal and letting it live on for years to come . taxidermy is something i long to try ... maybe one day lol
I realize that the fox's ears can go all over the place in real life, and I also know that you are a VERY experienced taxidermist, but why do many taxidermists have the ears sticking out to the side?
Everyone in the comments needs to chill out. The fox most likely died if natural causes or was killed because of overpopulation issues. Killing an animal because of overpopulation is not cruel, if we let overpopulation happen these animals would brutally starve to death. Instead we humanely kill them, and I will not sugarcoat the fact that gunshots are painful, but it is generally quick, unlike starving to death. Starving is slow, painful, and extremely cruel for an animal to go through, and a gunshot is much more humane in comparison. Most taxidermists don't kill the animals they work on, instead they get commissioned to work on hunters kill, or get naturally deceased animals. This man is not a bloodthirsty fox killer. Just praise the man for his amazing work or dislike and move on.
I come back to this video every time I have a nice red on my desk. My favorite fox tutorial by far.
im a child and love taxidermy keep posting videos and showing me how to improve my own skills
I got a feeling with the way things are going these days this skill will be non existent in 40 years.
It's all about taking the time to do the animal justice. Time and references! Nice video series!

Loop head pin with an epoxy handle? Great little adjusting tool! Nice to have a big ol' handle for big ol' hands to hold!

Chaos... REIGNS
It seems like applying the hide to the form would be better if it was damp or thirsty? Seems like that hide is dry. Is that better?
as an interested beginner, how do you cast the moulds for the skull?
Your voice sounds like Kurt Russell.
