    When I do boot replacement or new CV axels on ATVs I usually just drop the lower A arm at the frame rather than knocking off the lower ball joints. The ball joints are usually pretty abused and unless customer specifies replacement, I don’t want to make them looser by the removal of joint from the A arm.

      That’s a good suggestion!

      @WestTexasStyle: Thanks for the tip. I just detached the lower A-arm, the bottom of the shock, and the hub assembly and they came right out. The biggest pain in the butt was the C- clips on the new CV Axels were sloppy and would not allow the axel to go in. I ended up removing the c-clips from the OEM cv axels and using them. Went in without a hitch.
      Thanks for the tip.

    Thanks! I was trying to get the top A arm off instead. Did the bottom like you did, got the ball joint off with an "L " bar. Video was very helpful!

    Thanks Cheyenne! I got a new set of CV axles when I purchased my used Trx 300 from the seller. His boot was torn a few years prior to him selling it, and he had purchased a pair, but never replaced them as his gorilla tape and zip ties were holding up okay. So, before this winter sets in I am going to install them. Your example will help me get 'er done! I will check on those lower ball joints before I do this, as I don't think I will want to break it down again just to fix those too! Keep up your good video examples...

    Thanks for posting this up; pulling the spring/shock bottom shackle proved to be the key to making this literally a 15 minute job to swap the CV axle on my Rincon. One thing though: Why on eartth did you not clean the diff socket and hub then liberally apply grease to everything prior to assembly? Those splines don't like to be dry, and they surely don't like to ride on rust.

    • @CheyenneBullard
      @CheyenneBullard  Před rokem +1

      Hey thanks for watching! And I applied grease off camera. Grease gets everywhere so easily and I didn’t want it on my camera.

    at the beginning when you mentioned the can am guys an them hating the axle, the Honda isn't putting out no where near as much power as those big canam's and so the axles actually do a decent job in my opinion

    • @CheyenneBullard
      @CheyenneBullard  Před rokem +1

      Yes I agree. These can’t handle the high hp can ams have. However on lower hp machines I think they are a good option for oem pole replacement
