And welcome back to another Instalment in my ‘history of’ series for Mortal Kombat 1!
With the next impending character and cameo on the horizon, I though that today It would be the perfect opportunity to sit down and talk about the next MK kameo that will feature In game, the psychotic microscopic slashers of outworld and symbiotic rider of torr, Ferra.
Now Ferra as well as torr are a very interest duo within the mortal kombat franchise, and whilst It Is only terra returning, Its kinda of impossible to talk about one without the other, you see the introduction of duo brought in completely new faction and somewhat sub race of outworlder to that of the franchise, thus you can’t really talk about one without talking about the other here as they do largely compliment each other, so we will be covering their history, origin, as well as their significance to each other and Kotal Kahn during their quick and minor appearances in Mortal Kombat.

Being Ferra is a Kameo in MK1 I believe this suggests she can live without Torr being in MKX they are inseparable but her new lore most likely changed so that she can be her own individual.
It's more of a Symbiotic relationship, they theoretically can exist separate from each other but are so much stronger as a pair. Which is why in their MKX Ending Torr dies and Ferra transforms to become the next steed for her new Rider

In my opinion all the retcons were the downfall of MK, for me at least. Won’t be buying another game after 1. Still like the story though
Personally I don't believe kameos have any canonical bearing on anything, they're just a gameplay mechanic.
Unless they're in the story, the Kameos don't have new lore.
They have the cutest sibling relationship in the franchise especially that 1 round ending animation of Torr dragging Ferra by the arm

Doesnt their mkx ending explain that their species, the tank dies and the rider goes through a metamorphosis into the new tank and now ferra needs to find her own rider?
No telling what has changed with the universe resetting
Ferra-torr would work well in mk1. Mk1 is a reset timeline. Not exactly a prequel but very similar. They could tell the story of what created the symbiote of torr and other people who had possession of his power.
If it was thanks to Shang Tsung last time. Then I have a feeling that their story would be like the Tarkatans where it is now thanks to an illness or maybe a more natural mutation that turned them into these symbiotic pair

Ferra and Torr could be locked up in Lei Chen with General Shao and the other baddies. Maybe they escaped with him to be recruited as comrades in his revolt against Mileena.

Even though I was nearly a teenager when Mortal Kombat was released in the arcades back in the 90’s and have had every MK game I love MK’s lore and think it’s better than Street Fighter’s lore and games. Still I know MK and SF’s lores but I still really love watching your “History Behind The Warrior” series for these game characters making you my favourite fighting games CZcams channel. (After SF2 everyone tried to copy the success of the game but MK was the only game that was close to it in gameplay at the time other fighting games would come along later like King Of Fighters, Tekken and Samurai Showdown. SF2 series was still better than MK but when MK2 came out it had caught up with SF2 and surpassed it especially as the MK series continued! Ok maybe not MK4 so much as that’s my least favourite MK game). I was also surprised that you hadn’t done Ferra/Torr video before and I’ve given the video a 👍🏼 which I hope helps you out as I’d like to see more of your videos on the MK characters as now the characters have new stories and lore in this new timeline so I’d like to see you do updates on the videos, also with SF6 now out you can do updates on their characters plus add videos for the new characters like Jamie, Kimberly and rest of the new characters of which is quite a few
Ferra/Torr were my mains in MKX, I’m looking forward to using her as my kameo for MK1
It’s going to be weird without Torr’s presence.

Good to see at least one of them returning to the game. It is said that Ferrars gameplay will be unique, so let's wait and see.
I could see them being one of Shang Tsung's first successful creations, since in this timeline he did not create Mileena or Ermac. So I could see them along with other characters being his personal henchman since he has escaped captivity and found his iconic island in his arcade ladder ending. Maybe they were apart of that circus where he found Reptile at.
I like the idea of Ferra and Torr or at least Torr being a part of the circus along with Reptile. But I have to admit I see Shang Tsung making golems to infuse the souls into. Like an attempt at recreating that stone army he use to have power over briefly in the story. Maybe this is how we get Meat back because he is one of the first golems he makes after learning how to harness the Well of Souls
@@belovedwarrior3192 I can see that, I do think that him making an entire new species of monsters on his Island could make for a great story line. They can call them Yokai from Japanese folklore.

I mean Centaurs exists in Outworld which are from Earthrealm mythology. Also considering that some Outworlders look human and speak english then they might share other similarities with Earth like certain beliefs.
@@thunderbolte711 Yeah I could see that. Plus some introes do suggest that some of the Earthrealmers are part Outworlders. So I guess the knowledge of Earthrealm monster scould exist. Another possibility is those stories were of encounters with Outworlders from the start
Ferra's race are the amazonians while Torr is a gollum
Bring back D'Vorah as an Aliens style Queen for a Sub Boss under the Dragon King
Or just don't bring D'Vorah back ever for any reason, that'd be cool too

It never really made sense to me how she was supposed to go to a metamorphosis stage and then find her own Rider but she is still riding the main character in MK1😂
While I like the Concept of “Symbiotes” in the Franchise and the fact that they have some of the Gruesomeness Fatalities and might be one of Shang’s Experiments which I didn’t know about until now does bring layers to the Snake in the Franchise, I’m going to be very honest I never liked this Character Dou, in fact they’re both my Second Least Favorite Character’s in the Franchise First being Kung Jin and the reason why is because they have no purpose to the Story and I to be fair you could remove them from the Story and nothing will happen, they’re that Forgettable that I would prefer other characters like Rain, Li Mei, Sereena, Kabal, Nightwolf, Smoke, Stryker, or Sindel than freaking Ferra/Torr, I’m open for them to be Fixed as I like their Ending in MKX and Ferra being a Kameo is the best way to use her, although I’m not sure about Torr, he’s a Enigma right now, also I predict that the Homelander Trailer will come in Tuesday on 9 am, I might be wrong but we’ll see.
Wasn't there a leak, character line, or whatever saying the diminutive woman is now a part of the Umgadi in this new era?

@@nabilahmed579 I know it's a new era but I swear this series' consistency and lore is a damn MESS nowadays.
She doesn't appear to be wearing the uniform of the Umgadi. If Ferra were a member she would have looked more like Tanya. But I guess that could be something they fix later on in story mode

No, more comparable to a mid-late teen/early adult.
She's a kid. Which is why she never died or took damage
I know it's not cannon, but the more interesting thing about these two is that once torr dies, the rider (ferra) becomes the new torr as she waits for her rider. (MKX ending). Would be interesting to expand upon for example in mkx we got ferra/torr in (their ending is cannon) then in mk11 we would have got like a mini torr like chucky and a rideable ferra....name Gorr/ferra
That is canon,Their ending in mkx is the origin story to explain why ferra and Torr become who they are,Torr originally started out as rider like ferra did,Until his older companion dies and he had become older
The new era is likely gonna be a bit different, although with Ferra being just a kameo, we’re unlikely to learn more… Unless she returns as a playable character in KP2.

Please stop saying the comics aren't canon, there are just as many creators that said it still is, and nothing in the comics really contradicts anything in MKX or 11; and MKX and 11 even reference the comics.
They are not at this point unfortunately, the truth Is that whilst they dont collide or contradict with what happens in 11, the developer and creative minds of the game take priority here.
You dont have to like (as neither do I), but If the people working on the game are telling you how It is, it doesnt matter what other creator say (sadly).

Whilst Ed boon does gets final sa,y Ifs Its not touched on by him but by the current writer with a history at the studio who Is also the story lead, he naturally the go to authority of continuity at that point, its a shame as I like that comics but they are at this point non canon
@@Historybehindthewarrior Idk that's one comment in a threat instead of an official announcement. That's just not enough for me to ignore all the hard work and good writing in the comics. Maybe just say the comics are canon in all your videos and it will get him mad enough to actually address it 🤣
I always thought that the comics were canon to the extent that if it were referenced. Like they could pick and choose what they’d keep from it.

Sexualizing how? She never makes any overt sexual statements/actions, and dresses like a Mad Max feral child (the obvious inspiration being Master Blaster). Maybe she’s a dwarf and a legal adult? Heck, Mileena was nearly butt naked at one point. Physically mature but chronologically like five minutes old.
