This is looking more and more like a multi-verse like game where anyone can pop up. Would be fitting to play as a Young Shujinko in Konquest type mode once again.

Glad to see raiden as lui Kangs chosen, it’s almost like lui kang is giving raiden his ultimate respect/repaying him for giving him his power in the previous timeline. Really lovely to see

Seeing Shujinko once again has brought me goosebumps after all he's been through, its nice seeing him as one powerful master of Earthrealm. Edit: A lot of people think that was Shang Tsung when it isn't him lmao, NRS already listed Shujinko to be a Kameo fighter so that is obviously and surely him.
Can't believe Shujinko ACTUALLY mimics the opponent's moves! I don't know how they did it but props to netherrealm for their kreativity and dedication.
Major shoutout to the voice actors and the casting choices. First, the fact that they have almost the same actors as the last several games, like Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Sindel, Shao Kahn (or General Shao), with some exceptions made like Raiden because he's younger. That consistency and quality really makes the game. And the writing for these games storyline is a lot of fun. There seems to be so much heart that goes into MK, especially the last few years with MKX, MK11 and now MK1.
Maybe the game at some point will include Premier skins, giving the chance to play as the oldest raiden Like black lightning on injustice 2 being the Premier skin of raiden
Even though Shujinko is only a kameo fighter, it's so good to see him back. I love this game because NRS can bring back 3D Era characters now. Motaro also look awesome.
I hope Sindel is ACTUALLY a good guy in this, to get a fully voice acted Sindel who is on the side of good is something many MK fans want. Also it's nice to see Shujinko again, he seems to be a support character.
From what I understood from the trailer, Sindel might be on the good side this time around. She and Liu Kang seem to be long acquaintances from previous iterations of the MK tournament in this new timeline, not to mention that she berates Shao for being a warmonger, while Outworld and Earthrealm are in peace for the time being. That being said, Shao could try to stage a coup to dethrone Sindel and become Kahn once more
It’s interesting to see how Shao has changed compared to the earlier titles. Shao Kahn is typically massive, very bulky and towers over all but the largest characters. Here he is still tall, but the height and bulk discrepancy is much smaller than other characters in this iteration. Likely to highlight that here he is a General Subservient to Empress Sindel rather than Khan of Outworld, yet still a very capable Kombatant.

I really liked how this kinda made Shao Kahn a tiny bit more relateable compared to how when he was a ruler. He does still feel threatening and powerful but in a side much more where there's an authority above him. This feels like a fresh new start for him and it looks really fun and enjoyable.

Seeing Motaro back (in all of his four legged glory) after so many years put a huge smile on my face. Also, the design for General Shao looks very very dope! Looking forward to playing this game once it comes out!

Ever since Sindel was accidentally leaked sitting upon her throne, I’ve been waiting for her reveal! I love the way her hair animates during her fatality and fatal blow, and the resemblance between her, Kitana and Mileena is great! Long live the Queen!
her hair is a bit too weaponised if you asked me, like... it's hair not spikes so the sound effects and way she pins shao are a bit off - but otherwise all is perfect :D
I think they're using the same voice actress at MK11 and the actress rocked playing Sindel in that game. She ended up being my favorite character to play--hope she still has great combos and that awesome staff (best uppercut in the game).
He might be Onaga's son this time around from the looks of him. They put more emphasis on him being half human-half dragon with the horns. It's kind of a giveaway lol. Either that or Reptile's new brute form will be the vessel for Onaga's resurrection, a transformation u can actually see happening.
She never stopped being that, they just made her evil in 11. She'll be evil again with this war happening. Folks keep forgetting she's an outworlder, outworld is evil.
I love Raidens stripped down and simple design. Really harkens back to his original design, and I adore that. His new move set looks great too. Can't wait to play some Reptile and Raiden.
It’s interesting seeing the Liu Kang and Raiden’s roles flipped in this new timeline. Can’t wait to see how things are gonna and if Liu Kang learned anything from how Raiden handled him in the previous timeline.
Lui Kang is still above the elder gods in terms of power. He given Geras the hourglass who knows what he's actually capable of after eons. I seriously doubt anything will be a serious threat to him including any issues Raiden had

I'm most excited to see that no matter what altered timeline, Shao and Raiden will inevitably veer towards their destined futures. We get to see a bit of an origins story. Shao defies being oppressed, and Raiden just wants to serve Earthrealm. No matter how OP Liu Kang is, there will only ever be one God of Thunder and Lightning.
Of course the game will end up being " shao KAHN does some bullshit that makes Raiden and Liu Kang end up saving the day, but Raiden gets a taste of corruption"
It looks like Sindel is back on the side of good while still retaining her authoritative presence and commanding personality from MK11. This seems like a perfect balance in my eyes as one of the people who loved that she was a good guy yet found her personality bland in Deception. And I'm even more hyped for Young Raiden. He seems like a mixture of NRS Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
Well in the original timeline Shao was a General and Adviser under Onaga rules. It was only when he poison Onaga should he becoming a Kahn we know. I think this new timeline would be based on that. Since Shao is a General I would imagine he would betray Sindel one day and took her throne, same thing he did with Onaga in original. Like Liu Kang said, the only reason why he can't change the fate of some individual because some of their personality will remain the same regardless of timeline. Johnny Cage will remain Johnny Cage, Shang Tsung will remain Shang Tsung, and definitely Shao (Kahn) will remain Shao Kahn.
I love Shujinko’s Pai Mei like presence and interested in how Shao will be written in this story. I like the updated look and gives some insight to Shao’s days during Onaga’s reign in the original timeline. Looking forward to September.

Sindel being a nice person is fantastic, and I understand that everyone disliked her being evil but I like how she is still slightly cruel, fitting for a queen honestly. I'm one of the people that hates her being a villain, so I'm glad she isn't exactly evil. Probably more like an anti hero.
I really like Motaro's ability to reflect projectiles here. It's just like MK3, but here's animation here to show how it's done. There's so much attention to detail.
Anyone else notice that Shujinko does one of the opponents moves as an assist? He did Shao's axe swing and Sindels cartwheel kick. A great call back to his character, being able to copy moves like that.

I really love the facial expressions on the characters! The animation has evolved beautifully and tremendously within the Mortal Kombat franchise. Especially the fatalities and move-sets, super badass! It’s so cool to see our favorite MK baddie Shao Kahn back again! The animation on him at 1:57 is amazing! 💯
The walking has traditionally been bad too. Something about how muscular they made the characters make it look like they had a literal stick up their ass whenever they tried walking normal, up until 11. And even in 11 I could see it.
They finally made Raiden an interesting character. I never liked him in any of the other games, but now he's like the new Liu Kang and I really like that.
Even if it's just a cameo appearance, I am so happy Shujinko is back! Deception was my first MK deep dive (MK2 being my first MK), so I'm stoked to see the character I fell in love with back in action!

I could be wrong but Sindel traditionally hasn’t been portrayed as a stern and ego centric person like she is in 11 and this game. In otherwise I don’t think she’s back to being the way she was in Gen 1 & 2.

this is shaping up to be one of the best story modes ever! between Scorpion being Kuai Liang, Mileena having the Tarkat disease, Sindel mourning Jerrod, Raiden being the chosen one, I just cant wait to see how everything will play out.

Props to NRS for constantly innovating. This timeline is near unrecognizable yet it's also consistent with established lore, character backgrounds and previous events. This game feels really different from all the previous MKs, sort of more cheerful, but we all know that Liu Kang's grand design will most likely fail. I am eager to see what the NRS team has got in stores for us!
Liu gave some characters a strong demotion and others he rivaled with their seats in power. In some ways Liu needs to be humbled again, while he returned Adenia to its rightful course, he shafted Raiden the design will likely have some lose ends he could not control in his formation of new events. I like what I am seeing its rare to see the turmoil get fixed and play it out in a reset story. Story wise Mortal Kombat is the tenth and final tournament, Liu gone back to the fairer rightful system I take it. What he can't do is eliminate the tournament make it something else.

Seeing Shujinko once again has brought me goosebumps after all he's been through, its nice seeing him as one powerful master of Earthrealm.
Edit: A lot of people think that was Shang Tsung when it isn't him lmao, NRS already listed Shujinko to be a Kameo fighter so that is obviously and surely him.

We all know that the real Sindel would approve of MK1 Sindel as opposed to that MK11 gold digger thot.
Major shoutout to the voice actors and the casting choices. First, the fact that they have almost the same actors as the last several games, like Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Sindel, Shao Kahn (or General Shao), with some exceptions made like Raiden because he's younger. That consistency and quality really makes the game. And the writing for these games storyline is a lot of fun. There seems to be so much heart that goes into MK, especially the last few years with MKX, MK11 and now MK1.

I hope Sindel is ACTUALLY a good guy in this, to get a fully voice acted Sindel who is on the side of good is something many MK fans want. Also it's nice to see Shujinko again, he seems to be a support character.

From what I understood from the trailer, Sindel might be on the good side this time around. She and Liu Kang seem to be long acquaintances from previous iterations of the MK tournament in this new timeline, not to mention that she berates Shao for being a warmonger, while Outworld and Earthrealm are in peace for the time being. That being said, Shao could try to stage a coup to dethrone Sindel and become Kahn once more

It’s interesting to see how Shao has changed compared to the earlier titles. Shao Kahn is typically massive, very bulky and towers over all but the largest characters. Here he is still tall, but the height and bulk discrepancy is much smaller than other characters in this iteration. Likely to highlight that here he is a General Subservient to Empress Sindel rather than Khan of Outworld, yet still a very capable Kombatant.

The music in these trailers has been incredible.
I really liked how this kinda made Shao Kahn a tiny bit more relateable compared to how when he was a ruler. He does still feel threatening and powerful but in a side much more where there's an authority above him. This feels like a fresh new start for him and it looks really fun and enjoyable.

Him being mostly human was a shock and a nice twist after Goro was such a beast. I would take MK2 and MK3 Shao Kahn any day over these lame versions. Hell, give me MK Deception Shao Khan and i would be happy.

Watching NRs animation grow in the last 12 years has been a treat. It's crazy even looking back 1 game and seeing how far they improve.
That's the only thing that sucks mate idk if we are looking for different things but some of Raiden punches have no impact

Ever since Sindel was accidentally leaked sitting upon her throne, I’ve been waiting for her reveal! I love the way her hair animates during her fatality and fatal blow, and the resemblance between her, Kitana and Mileena is great! Long live the Queen!

I think they're using the same voice actress at MK11 and the actress rocked playing Sindel in that game. She ended up being my favorite character to play--hope she still has great combos and that awesome staff (best uppercut in the game).

He might be Onaga's son this time around from the looks of him. They put more emphasis on him being half human-half dragon with the horns. It's kind of a giveaway lol. Either that or Reptile's new brute form will be the vessel for Onaga's resurrection, a transformation u can actually see happening.

I'm most excited to see that no matter what altered timeline, Shao and Raiden will inevitably veer towards their destined futures. We get to see a bit of an origins story. Shao defies being oppressed, and Raiden just wants to serve Earthrealm. No matter how OP Liu Kang is, there will only ever be one God of Thunder and Lightning.
Of course the game will end up being " shao KAHN does some bullshit that makes Raiden and Liu Kang end up saving the day, but Raiden gets a taste of corruption"

It looks like Sindel is back on the side of good while still retaining her authoritative presence and commanding personality from MK11. This seems like a perfect balance in my eyes as one of the people who loved that she was a good guy yet found her personality bland in Deception.
And I'm even more hyped for Young Raiden. He seems like a mixture of NRS Liu Kang and Kung Lao.

Well in the original timeline Shao was a General and Adviser under Onaga rules. It was only when he poison Onaga should he becoming a Kahn we know.
I think this new timeline would be based on that. Since Shao is a General I would imagine he would betray Sindel one day and took her throne, same thing he did with Onaga in original. Like Liu Kang said, the only reason why he can't change the fate of some individual because some of their personality will remain the same regardless of timeline. Johnny Cage will remain Johnny Cage, Shang Tsung will remain Shang Tsung, and definitely Shao (Kahn) will remain Shao Kahn.

As someone who grew up playing the PS2 games I'm so happy to see Shujinko back.

Sindel being a nice person is fantastic, and I understand that everyone disliked her being evil but I like how she is still slightly cruel, fitting for a queen honestly. I'm one of the people that hates her being a villain, so I'm glad she isn't exactly evil. Probably more like an anti hero.

Anyone else notice that Shujinko does one of the opponents moves as an assist? He did Shao's axe swing and Sindels cartwheel kick. A great call back to his character, being able to copy moves like that.

I really love the facial expressions on the characters! The animation has evolved beautifully and tremendously within the Mortal Kombat franchise. Especially the fatalities and move-sets, super badass! It’s so cool to see our favorite MK baddie Shao Kahn back again! The animation on him at 1:57 is amazing! 💯

The walking has traditionally been bad too. Something about how muscular they made the characters make it look like they had a literal stick up their ass whenever they tried walking normal, up until 11. And even in 11 I could see it.
They finally made Raiden an interesting character. I never liked him in any of the other games, but now he's like the new Liu Kang and I really like that.
Even if it's just a cameo appearance, I am so happy Shujinko is back! Deception was my first MK deep dive (MK2 being my first MK), so I'm stoked to see the character I fell in love with back in action!

Props to NRS for constantly innovating. This timeline is near unrecognizable yet it's also consistent with established lore, character backgrounds and previous events. This game feels really different from all the previous MKs, sort of more cheerful, but we all know that Liu Kang's grand design will most likely fail. I am eager to see what the NRS team has got in stores for us!
Liu gave some characters a strong demotion and others he rivaled with their seats in power. In some ways Liu needs to be humbled again, while he returned Adenia to its rightful course, he shafted Raiden the design will likely have some lose ends he could not control in his formation of new events. I like what I am seeing its rare to see the turmoil get fixed and play it out in a reset story. Story wise Mortal Kombat is the tenth and final tournament, Liu gone back to the fairer rightful system I take it. What he can't do is eliminate the tournament make it something else.

same, but I feel like they could've fit a game or two with interesting plots (centered around dark Raiden for example) between MKX and MK11
