When you see they're going to play an electric violin, a fretless guitar, a theremin, and wind instruments, you know the prog is going to be strong with this one.
John Coronado 🤣
Is that a fretless guitar?
Oh nvm, he picks one up later
Prog is life for true musicians everywhere! :D
Sorry I'm late, but I'm trying to find more heavy prog bands like this! Do you have any suggestions?
If this is your first time listening to Thank You Scientist do yourself a favor and pick up their studio albums!!
I'm definitely going to now. And to see they're from my former neck of the woods is awesome.
Dramatron I have no money, dude.
The King Crimson avatar made me take your advice seriously. Will check them out, thanks!
Do they release instrumental versions of their albums without their singer? Then I'd buy one.
Dramatron I came here from bluecoats 2017. their opener is prelude and psychopomp
The Amateur Arsonist's Handbook 0:38
Caverns 9:29
A Wolf in Cheap Clothing 19:58
In The Company of Worms 29:28
Thanks dude!
You're a Saint
You're doing gods work
Spotify has killed it with recommendations this past few months...finding these guys, karnivool and dead letter circus has been amazing.
These guys are so underrated as fuck like shit, they are amazing musicians. it is sad real talents like this doesn't get enough appreciation as much as they deserve.
When you realize the bass players coffee table is actually a theremin you know this is legit music.
opening up for these guys was a dream come true. never gonna forget that show
HANK the businessman congrats, dude!
Whats your band,called?
Wow you opened for them!!! That's amazing!!!!!
Their drummer is their real secret weapon. Effortless playing, perfect tempo, such complicated songs...
Show me a great band with a terrible drummer - IMPOSSIBLE!
@@KhalDrogo76 the white stripes.
ryan butler quality choice but I’ll have to disagree as that isn’t technically a great band ...it’s a great singer/songwriter/guitarist with a crappy drummer.
@@KhalDrogo76 it is called Metallica
@@lokvi89 ehh....Lars has only been bad now that he’s rich and doesn’t practice...Lars on Puppets or Garage Days or Justice he is rock solid.
Sal: all our fans are dads
Me, at 17 yrs old: *hi hungry, I am dad*
Right here with you bro
bro same
I always wonder how bands like these form. Back in my band days, it was enough effort to wrangle three other people to write and rehearse on a regular business. Yet these guys have like 50 members and everyone is killing it.
the answer is "music schools", which tend to require you to form groups/bands, compose, and perform as part of the curriculum! the main one of my brother's that I remember was a six person jazz group called The Casual Sextet :3
@@russull5589 exactly what I was gonna say!
One of the greatest moments of my life occurred in Sacramento, CA earlier this year. I was absorbing the set of this, the world's strongest prog band. Sal himself exited the stage during an instrumental moment, and stood off to the side on the audience floor. I mustered every bit of my courage, and approached him. I told him, "You guys comprise my very favorite band in the world, and thank you for being here." And he SHOOK MY HAND!! tldr, I know. But I mostly put this here in hopes the band would see it and know, they helped me realize a very fond dream. And that each and every time they come through the Sacramento area, they can count on me being there.
i'm so embarrassed to say that i found this band through Bluecoats but they're actually incredible i love this
Why be embarrassed? DCI is awesome, and I am so glad I found them through my hometown corp :D
God damn I hope I live long enough to get this good at an instrument
I hope these guys stay together for a super long time. The evolution between the first two albums was awesome to see and the music is amazing.
These guys are so talented! This is by far the best live video of them performing.
Underrated as fuck.
**Unrated. Those who know them seem to like them; no one knows them.
Right, right. I guess we're a few of those few who actually knows them. Impossible not to like and admire such sense of musicianship.
If this is the best live video of them... then are they really that talented?
OdaKa They're relatively unknown with a very small selection of live video to pull from so yes. Also, haven't you heard the records? Of course they're talented, just listen to them.
These guys are good musicians
absolutely one of the most talented bands in this day and time. and so enticing to watch.
I dream with the whole album Live, at least this compensate! Every time i hear a live versions they sound better and better. And this one is a good live; good tempo.

The moment I saw Tom's fretless guitar sitting there I knew what song was to be played during this set
Ben slaying on the violin
This seriously needs wayyyyy more likes and views! Well done, gentlemen.
33:43 the look of relief when the guitar player after he performs a flawless fretless solo is awesome!
When they play a Wolf in cheap Clothing its so beautiful
After (sort of accidentally?) watching this whole session, I think I just found my new favorite band...
Oh also, not all of your fans are Dads!!
So glad to see a good live recording of you guys. Maps of Non-Existent Places is one of my favourite all time albums and everything you lot do is fantastic. I hope you continue to make such fantastic music!
Sem dúvidas uma das bandas mais incríveis do mundo!!! Espero que um dia venham para o Brasil...
For so long time I just couldn't find such awesome band, but now I don't need to keep searching for it anymore. Thank you guys ;)
These guys are legitimate. So talented, and so much fun. Thank you, Audiotree!
You guys blow my mind: Amazing songwriting, amazing playing and amazing delivery!!!
I hope you guys at some point make your way to Europe - I'm up for pretty up for any trans-European trek, but my bicycle sadly doesn't do trans-Atlantic endeavours... Rock on and thank you for making my favourite new music.
They announced the first leg of their european tour if you're not aware!
One of my favorite bands lately. They are so talented and are amazing live.
I must say though, the camera work on this video is terrible. It seems like the cameraman is intentionally focusing on the wrong person at the wrong time.
I saw these guys when they opened up for coheed in El Paso! that was my first concert and it was amazing!
This is a fucking wonderful performance! I've been waiting to see a good live recording of you guys! If I've missed an older one someone should totally point me in the right direction.
Congrats guys of Thank you Scientist!!!
Your music is amazing!!!
I went down to read the comments and saw people talking about "theremin" and I didn't know any about the existence of this.
I'm now perplexed. I'm really enticed with this music.
The force is strong with this band
Simplemente espectacular, musicos excelentes, saludos desde Chile
VEGAS - 4/27 - Finally!!! Can't wait to see you guys...the 2 year wait is over! Done - dusted.
I saw them live a few years back when I went to a periphery concert it was so amazing to watch them play! Their set was so interesting >w
Awesome band, super talented
Love the atmosphere it gives. Awesome job muh dudes!
I love The Amateur Arsonist's Handbook especially because there really is some Fall of Troy influence in the harmony as well as just the entire bit at 3:24-3:59

Oh my god!!!

Love these guys. Wish some of them would get in on some backing vocals.
Saw these guys play amityville music hall 2 days ago. all of them are monster musicians. It seems to me like they all take their job extremely seriously. They told me they all graduated the same music school together and it totally shows!
Woo!
DAYUM
Props to the trumpet player for doing backup vocals. My voice tends to crack after playing for an extended period of time.
The fucking good band, thanks for exist!!!
I'm a dad and also a huge fan,Andrew
Get trioscapes to this show pleeeeease
I saw them live last week in New York City, they are incredible.
Really miss Odin on drums
Been a fan of this band for a year now and was thrilled when they released Terraformer. So happy to see people commenting on this still, this band deserves all the recognition they can get!!
Am i officially a dad?
I dunno man, that's between you and your god.
Not that I think they did, but you could never tell if any of them made a mistake... The beauty of Jazz.
Sal: all of our fans are dads
Me: *calls girlfriend* Hey yeah just checking when was your period supposed to be again???
Anyone know where I can find the full version of Rube Goldberg Variations played at the beginning?
I have that bike they zoom in on at the start!!! Its a mid-90s Trek single-track!!! Truly a great way to explore urban emvironments... It was one of the first metal lug hybrid frames. Ive had the best of times on my bike. Smoking the sweet Goddess Cannabis and riding 25 miles there and back to play guitar down in the city streets!!! Truly being now/know!!!
WE ARE LOVE!!!!!!!!!

I think that’s funny you guys mention that because I’m a dad and I’m a really big fan so he ain’t lying
How the hell am I only finding out about these guys now?
speaking of superheroes!
yeah Vigier guitare !
bloooo
Do they play prelude or pscyhopomp in here
Has the video for Mr. Invisible they were talking about been released yet?
vocalist sound like claudio from coheed
Claudio signed them to his record label if you didn't know that. That's actually how I heard of them, he signed them and they opened for them. Incredible band
Joe Johnson he sounds like Micheal Jackson to me, which is one of his inspirations I've read.
It looks like the michael jackson of the simpsons grow a beard and start making prog
I caught a Claudio vibe right away too. Stumbled onto this video randomly.
La Magia Moreno as a huge fan of both I really appreciate this comment. Fucking brick layer haha.
These guys filled the void left when The Big Pill broke up.
But like- this band I only found like a week ago has rlly grown to be one of my favs- since I’m already a fan of the dear hunter who is slightly similar. I’m a violinist, I like more complicated songs
My ultimate goal in life is to be as cool as Tom Monda
