So this review turns out to be of the version 1 product as they have now released version 2. However, while the version 2 fleece is now claimed to be a thicker material the original advertising for the original product made claims about it being the warmest fleece ever, yet it was below average and in my experience one of the thinnest fleeces ever. How can I trust the claims made for version 2 when it seems the claims for version 1 simply didn't deliver? Besides why wait an age for a version 2 when for less money you can buy a better product than version 1, so just maybe on par with version 2, if the claims for it are true.
It's made in China, and if I had known that, I wouldn't have purchased it. I'm thinking of disputing the charge as I haven't received mine, ordered October 7, and haven't had a shipping update since the 29th.
@@dh2392 I have a v2.0 and it seems completely different to the v1.0 you’ve reviewed. It’s thick, warm, great fitting and well made. Took a week to arrive. Not cheap at £75 though and I can’t comment on how it compares to cheaper offerings. However, I’ve no complaints in that’s it’s exactly as advertised. The v1.0 version you’ve shown looks very low quality and I would have been most upset it that had been what I’d received.

@@dh2392 That’s disappointing - I must admit that I did email them after I placed my order as I didn’t receive an order acknowledgment. They replied within a day and indicated that they’d expedited my order. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen complaints about delivery times.

However I do see today that their tracking finally tells me where my hoodie actually is, Las Vegas, and previously Los Angeles. So I'm wondering if tracking wasn't showing anything because perhaps it was on a ship to California. I almost think it had to be on a ship, air freight wouldn't have taken anywhere near this much time. I'm in the Seattle area, so it shouldn't take much longer to arrive.

Thanks for the review. Wished I had seen it before I bought the Baer Hoodie. I have one of these hoodies, worn it for about 3 months, not that often (Covid), and the one pocket is starting to wear and 'separate'. Only thing I have been carrying in the pocket is my wallet, a mask and a keyfob. Talked to company, said they won't replace it as my 14 day warrantee is expired. Not happy! I will be posting warning reviews and probably a video due to the company not supporting what was either a defective item, or a serious design flaw.

Ordered October 7, still haven't received, and I haven't had a shipping update since the 29th, over a week. The tracking information is worthless anyway as you're getting little more information than "in transit". I think I'll dispute the credit card charge at this point
I bought a dark gray (I’m retired Navy…haze gray and underway!) MagcoMsen. Very very thick. I hike quite a bit, year round, and I live in western Massachusetts. On two 4-5 mile hikes, I have worn this, with two thinner layers underneath. The first hike? Low 40s, high 30s and drizzle. Today I hiked in low 30s, heavy wet snow. I am amazed how warm and dry I stayed….both hikes…..particularly today. I’m 6’2”, 175-180 lbs. The medium is perfect. The material very thick. All the zippers work smoothly. I did put my Jeep keys in that weird inside pocket….lost the keys --thank God I was on a rail trail and found them by retracing my steps! A pocket without a bottom….not sure what they were thinking! Anyway…other improvements? I would like a draw cord on the hood, and a sleeve clincher of some sort (I’m pretty slim, and the sleeve cuffs seem huge). Still, all in all….I am satisfied. Also, I was surprised it didn’t soak through today. I am considering a Baerskin 2.0…to own a second one…..but reading some of these comments, maybe not.
Absolutely. They are awful. Chinese made garbage. These things can't even handle a washing machine, let alone protect you "in the wild". Major scam company.
A great video , I would love to see you make more compassion's with cheaper brands. I almost bought the cheaper hoodie but then found the Helikon Patriot which unlike the Magcomsen or the Baerskin hoodie had zips under the arms to cool the sweaty pits. It also had a drawstring round the hood and reinforced patches on the elbow area . More expensive then the Magcomsen but cheaper then the Baerskin .

I went round and round and round….which fleece to buy? That was, until I found your video. I immediately bought the MagcoMsen…in Gray. I’m 6’2”, 180lbs…bought Medium….and am very pleased with the “Maggie”. (Ha! That was the name of my old MG’B’….I lobed that car!). Three things I am not pleased with? #1. No hood cinch. #2. No sleeve cuff closure. And #3. The inside ‘slip in’ pockets have no bottom…and having forgotten that from viewing your video, I temporarily lost my car keys on a snowy Berkshire Mountains hike! Backtracking, thank God, my Australian Shepherd nosed them out of the snow! (I do so love that dog!). I see that you compared the “Maggie” to the FIRST Baerskin version….apparently, they’ve improved Version 2.0, so I am now considering buying it. These heavy fleeces? Amazing performance. I’ve hiked in temperatures down to 30F, high wind, snow, rain and fog. While I will wear two thin layers beneath the hoodie, I remained warm and dry. Plus, as retired Navy, I can add two well-earned morale patches in subdued black and gray to the shoulder patches. I wish they had a chest Velcro patch…so I could add my squadron! Again, sir, a hearty and sincere Bravo-Zulu, well done on a value-added video, pointing out the weaknesses of the Baerskin Hoodie Version 1.0. I wish you well, and only the best in this New Year!

Ordered October 7, finally received it today November 14, so 5 weeks. That said, I like it, and mine doesn't have any of the quality issues that some others have reported. All my pockets have bottoms, etc.

I purchased a Baerskin hoodie on October 7, and have yet to receive it. I also haven't had a tracking update since October 29, and the tracking they provide is a joke, it doesn't tell you anything about where your package is. Basically, tracking just tells you your hoodie is in transit. I think at this point I'll dispute the charge.
Well, I know their carrier ships items from China. I did not know that when I ordered. I usually don't ignore red flags, but I sure did when I ordered not 1, but 2 jackets. BTW, I ordered them 3 weeks, and supposedly just mailed it (with no info as to where it is) today.
@@bigred9428 for weeks my hoodie showed no location information after leaving China, and then one day tracking shows it as being in Los Angeles. I think this is because it was on a ship from China to Los Angeles, a 15 to 20 day trip. I also think this is why it took over 5 weeks to receive it, air freight would take nowhere near that long.
Just received my tacvasen fleece today. Has yours any identifying marks or labels ? (other than the card label that you remove) all mine says is the size and Made In China no mention of Tacvasen at all.

So Baerskin are replying to comments saying they have a new and improved product but they haven't said what the weight is or what the improvements are. It's one thing to say the new fleece is '330gsm Polar Fleece. Heat retaining double napped fleece that's still light and packable' but what was the old fleece gsm and how does that compare to their fleece in this review and the Amazon fleece in this review?

I suggest you speak to your credit card or whatever company you used to make payment with. Also e-mail the company again and ask for your product or a refund.
Baerskin is probably the best of the Chinese knockoffs (of the Triple Aught Ranger Hoodie LT) but overwhelming customer service and shipping/refund complaints makes TrueSWAT appear as a swindler.
I disagree and my video clip shows the product from Amazon is both cheaper, thicker and yet very nearly the same. So I think the MAGCOMSEN is probably, or more probably than the Baerskin, the best of the Chinese knock offs.
@@Daniel-S1 I'm not going to defend Baerskin for reasons already mentioned but is that the original or the 2.0 version? For one, the 2.0s I've seen have drawstring hoods. And both versions have better-positioned (lower) hand warmer pockets and more pockets overall than the other knockoffs.

I wouldn't buy from this company. After 3 weeks it's still in limbo and no one from this so call company will help. They said they shipped it but after 3 weeks it's not moving anywhere. Unable to get the business who is supposed to be shipping it from baerskin. I have ask for a refund which they declined. Next step is just report a fraud claim with my bank. Complete fraud if you ask me. From other site with other response from other buyers. It appears I am not alone.
I expect it will turn up eventually. Be very careful when you open it because if you want to return it for a refund it will need to be in the original packaging.

Can you advise what the weight of this new and improved product is?
I purchased a Baerskin hoodie on October 7, and have yet to receive it. I also haven't had a tracking update since October 29, and the tracking they provide is a joke, it doesn't tell you anything about where your package is. Basically, tracking
just tells you your hoodie is in transit. I think at this point I'll dispute the charge.
I called them , got a reply to my order and it took 22 days to receive
call them it took 22 days for mine to show up
Got it yesterday, so a little over 5 weeks.
Well, I know their carrier ships items from China. I did not know that when I ordered. I usually don't ignore red flags, but I sure did when I ordered not 1, but 2 jackets. BTW, I ordered them 3 weeks, and supposedly just mailed it (with no info as to where it is) today.
@@bigred9428 for weeks my hoodie showed no location information after leaving China, and then one day tracking shows it as being in Los Angeles. I think this is because it was on a ship from China to Los Angeles, a 15 to 20 day trip. I also think this is why it took over 5 weeks to receive it, air freight would take nowhere near that long.
Just received my tacvasen fleece today. Has yours any identifying marks or labels ? (other than the card label that you remove) all mine says is the size and Made In China no mention of Tacvasen at all.
Sounds the same as mine, it has no manufacturer markings at all.

So Baerskin are replying to comments saying they have a new and improved product but they haven't said what the weight is or what the improvements are. It's one thing to say the new fleece is '330gsm Polar Fleece. Heat retaining double napped fleece that's still light and packable' but what was the old fleece gsm and how does that compare to their fleece in this review and the Amazon fleece in this review?

We are so sorry for not getting back to you sooner and for not clarifying the improvements made on our new Baerskin hoodie version 2.0
Here are the new features that our new and improved version 2.0 has in comparison to the old version:
* 330gm Polar Fleece - added warmth (version 2 had 280gm polar fleece)
* anti-pill fleece - old version had traditional fleece which develops little bubbles after the first few wears, making the product look old, worn, cheap & tacky; anti-pill is is of a better quality and ensures longer lasting
* adjustable hood toggles - allows the wearer to draw the hood closer to the face to prevent cold or wind from gushing through
* adjustable cuff - 1/2 elasticated & velcro
* no thumb holes
* longer back
* extended storm flap all the way down the length of the front of the jacket, for extra protection from the cold
* 3 additional internal pockets for extra storage
* all pockets are now deeper and wider
* branded logo at the lower right side

Did not received ripped off for $127. Order 12/10 promised by 12/20. It's 1/14/23. Never received but paid. Received nothing. Please help. Fraud.
I suggest you speak to your credit card or whatever company you used to make payment with. Also e-mail the company again and ask for your product or a refund.
Baerskin is probably the best of the Chinese knockoffs (of the Triple Aught Ranger Hoodie LT) but overwhelming customer service and shipping/refund complaints makes TrueSWAT appear as a swindler.
I disagree and my video clip shows the product from Amazon is both cheaper, thicker and yet very nearly the same. So I think the MAGCOMSEN is probably, or more probably than the Baerskin, the best of the Chinese knock offs.
@@Daniel-S1 I'm not going to defend Baerskin for reasons already mentioned but is that the original or the 2.0 version? For one, the 2.0s I've seen have drawstring hoods. And both versions have better-positioned (lower) hand warmer pockets and more pockets overall than the other knockoffs.

Contact the Credit Card company you used to make the purchase with, they may able to help you get a refund.

I wouldn't buy from this company. After 3 weeks it's still in limbo and no one from this so call company will help. They said they shipped it but after 3 weeks it's not moving anywhere. Unable to get the business who is supposed to be shipping it from baerskin. I have ask for a refund which they declined. Next step is just report a fraud claim with my bank. Complete fraud if you ask me. From other site with other response from other buyers. It appears I am not alone.
I expect it will turn up eventually. Be very careful when you open it because if you want to return it for a refund it will need to be in the original packaging.
